NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Today 10/27

Wednesday night delivers a full 10-game slate. With so many teams competing, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Boom: Giannis Antetokounmpo: $10,800 DraftKings/$11,200 FanDuel

44.6% DraftKings Boom/31.2% FanDuel Boom

By a wide margin, Antetokounmpo carries the highest projection and ceiling on the slate tonight, via Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool. After a three-game road trip, Giannis will be back at home, facing the Timberwolves. In this matchup, the Bucks have the highest implied team total on the slate (118.5 points), and this game’s total is also the second largest on the board (230.5 points). For the second straight game, Milwaukee will be without Jrue Holiday (ankle), Brook Lopez (back) and Donte DiVincenzo (ankle). With these three missing Monday, Antetokounmpo was one assist shy of a triple-double and finished with 62.5 DraftKings points against the Pacers. When he has been on the floor without these three starters since the start of last season, Antetokounmpo has posted a 33% usage rate and 1.64 DraftKings points per minute.

For his career, Antetokounmpo has scored 2.4 more DraftKings points per game on his home floor, and his lines on BetMGM are 30.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Including DraftKings bonus for a double-double, this translates to 55.5 DraftKings points before defensive stats. Without question, Antetokounmpo is the top stud available for Wednesday’s full slate.

Boom: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: $7,100 DraftKings/$7,100 FanDuel

42.3% DraftKings Boom/37.5% FanDuel Boom

At only $7,100 on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Gilgeous-Alexander is a value play that needs to be utilized. After opening the season with two lackluster starts that were the products of blowouts, he has averaged 46.4 DraftKings points per game in his last two. This season Gilgeous-Alexander leads the Thunder in usage (29.3%) and assist rate (31%), and he is in a great spot Wednesday night against the Lakers. The acquisition of Russell Westbrook has Los Angeles playing at the second-fastest pace in the league, and their defense has been weak, ranking 22nd in efficiency. Plus, they should be worn down coming off an overtime win in San Antonio last night, and LeBron James (questionable, ankle) may miss his second consecutive game. This game should stay close throughout, and Gilgeous-Alexander should effortlessly exceed 5x value at his soft price tags.

De’Anthony Melton: $5,000 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel

40.7% DraftKings Boom/27.6% FanDuel Boom

As the replacement starter for the injured Dillon Brooks (hand), Melton has taken full advantage of the expanded role. With 30.3 minutes per game, Melton is shooting 52% from the field and scoring 31.5 DraftKings points per game. He is averaging 1.1 DraftKings points per minute sans Brooks since the start of last season and is competing in the highest total of the night against the Trail Blazers (234 points). The Grizzlies also sport the third-highest implied team total on the slate (116 points), and Portland is only favored by 2 points. In all the games he has cracked 25 minutes over the last two seasons, Melton is averaging 34.3 DraftKings points per game, and he is rating as a top-five value on DraftKings tonight.

Bust: Devin Booker: $8,000 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel

39% DraftKings Bust/39.8% FanDuel Bust

Booker’s fantasy production comes purely off scoring, and when his shot is off, he tends to underwhelm. While it is early, Booker’s shooting efficiency has taken a dip, with a 39% field goal percentage after hitting 48% of his shots the previous two seasons. He is only averaging 31.5 DraftKings points per game, and tonight’s home matchup with the Kings has blowout potential. Phoenix is favored by 8 points, which is tied for the largest spread on the slate. Booker only averaged 35.3 DraftKings points per game in three meetings with Sacramento last season, and his price tags are far too aggressive for his modest floor. Particularly on FanDuel where Booker is slated for 20.1% ownership, he is bad chalk.
