NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Today 11/2

Tuesday delivers a five-game slate. Even with only 10 teams in action, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Boom: Thanasis Antetokounmpo: $3,100 DraftKings/$4,200 FanDuel

5.8% DraftKings Boom/14.2% FanDuel Boom

With Khris Middleton (health and safety protocols), Jrue Holiday (ankle), Brook Lopez (back) and Donte DiVincenzo (ankle) all inactive Sunday night, Antetokounmpo got the spot start at center for the Bucks and finished with 31.75 DraftKings points across 32 minutes. This performance came in arguably the worst possible matchup for him against the Jazz, and this minutes total was the second highest of Antetokounmpo’s career. With the Bucks missing those four starters again Tuesday, Antetokounmpo should start and handle around 30 minutes, in a much better matchup against the Pistons. This Detroit defense has yielded the fourth-most DraftKings points to opposing centers.

With those four players off the floor this season, Antetokounmpo has provided 0.93 DraftKings points per minute. Additionally, he has produced 34 DraftKings points per game for his career when he has logged at least 25 minutes. Antetokounmpo is a great target on both sites, but at a near-minimum $3,100 on DraftKings, he is the strongest point-per-dollar value on the slate according to Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: Rudy Gobert: $8,100 DraftKings/$8,200 FanDuel

52.4% DraftKings Boom/48.5% FanDuel Boom

Facing the Kings tonight, Gobert has the highest boom score on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel. Gobert’s usage has increased 1.1 percentage points from last year, and his rebound rate has also jumped 5.3 percentage points. Through the first six games Gobert has led the Jazz in DraftKings points per minute with 1.4, and he ranks second on the team in playing time with 31 minutes per game. The Kings rank 24th in defensive efficiency, and they are also allowing the fifth-most rebounds and third-most points in the paint. In this spot the Jazz have the highest implied team total of the night (115.5 points), and this game also presents the highest total on the board (221.5 points). Just a few weeks ago Gobert exposed this same Kings’ defense for 48.5 DraftKings points, and the Boom/Bust Tool gives him a ceiling north of 50 fantasy points on both sites.

Boom: Christian Wood: $8,300 DraftKings/$7,900 FanDuel

45.3% DraftKings Boom/41.9% FanDuel Boom

For this short slate, taking a chance on Wood at possibly depressed ownership against the Lakers is a sharp move for GPPs. Both the Rockets and Lakers rank inside the top five in pace and this matchup’s total is the second highest on the slate (217.5 points). Furthermore, Los Angeles has been susceptible inside, giving up the second-most points in the paint, and this season Wood is averaging 1.2 DraftKings points per minute and a 24% usage rate. He has led the Rockets in minutes per game (33.2) and could be in line for more work tonight, with both Jae’Sean Tate (ankle) and Daniel Theis (toe) questionable for Houston. Nonetheless, this is compelling spot for Wood, and his leverage score is the highest on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Bust: Donovan Mitchell: $8,800 DraftKings/$8,000 FanDuel

63.3% DraftKings Bust/60.1% FanDuel Bust

Attack the Jazz through Gobert tonight, not Mitchell. The latter’s price tags are inflated right now, and he is expected to be popular, particularly on FanDuel, where Mitchell is projected to be the most owned guard on the slate. His overall fantasy production is slightly down from a year ago, and given tonight is not part of a back-to-back set, Mike Conley will be available for Utah. When Mitchell and Conley have shared the floor this season, Mitchell has only averaged 0.86 DraftKings points per minute. Additionally, in the five games the two guards have been active, Mitchell is only averaging 36.5 DraftKings points per game. His floor is only 30.2 DraftKings points in the Boom/Bust Tool, and there are far better high-end options to attack than Mitchell tonight.
