NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Jarrett Allen vs. Hawks: $7,600/$7,500

24.6% DraftKings Boom/38.7% FanDuel Boom

With Andre Drummond inactive until the Cavaliers find a trade partner, Allen is getting most of the center minutes to himself. Last time out he played 42 minutes in a game that didn’t go to overtime. The only thing that can stop him from massive minutes at this point is either foul trouble or a blowout. Outside of these factors, Allen will play all the minutes he can handle, and he scores well over a fantasy point per minute. His salary is not adjusted for his new role in Cleveland.

James Harden vs. Kings: $11,000/$10,700

41.5% DraftKings Boom/45.5% FanDuel Boom

Harden has the highest boom rating of any player on DraftKings, and he has one of the best percentages on FanDuel. He struggled from a fantasy perspective when he first came to the Nets, but it looks like he is starting to find his optimal role with the team. Harden is settling into playing point guard as Kyrie Irving spends more of his time playing off the ball. It also helps that Kevin Durant is currently out, which is opening up additional usage in the offense. The Nets are starting to click and are playing the Kings in a game that has a total 9 points higher than any other game on tonight’s slate.

De’Aaron Fox vs. Nets: $8,000/$7,900

28% DraftKings Boom/40.5% FanDuel Boom

Fox benefits from the same game environment as Harden. There is also some added correlation in rostering them together, although they each make for strong standalone plays anyway. Fox’s price dipped following a couple of off games, but he has also played in blowouts and tough matchups. The price dip is a mistake when considering that Fox draws one of the best DFS matchups possible by going up against the Nets. He is averaging well over 40 fantasy points for the season.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Wayne Ellington vs. Magic: $3,900/$3,500

70.5% DraftKings Bust/77.6% FanDuel Bust

Ellington is close to min price on both sites and is right around 10% projected ownership on DraftKings. This number look a bit too high for Ellington even though the Pistons are short-handed at the moment. Despite starting last game, Ellington played just 16 minutes and didn’t produce much by way of fantasy points. Ellington has started his last nine games and scored 15 or more fantasy points in just one of them, making it hard to see much upside here.
