NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidatesย

Michael Carter-Williams vs. Trail Blazers: $6,600 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel

26.4% DraftKings Boom/54.5% FanDuel Boom

The Magic roster is now much thinner after Thursday’s trade deadline. They might have the worst team in the league after shipping off Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier. To make the situation even worse, Terrence Ross is out because of knee soreness. This leaves the Magic with only eight active players for tonight and none of the available players. As a result, Carter-Williams is likely to going to have to lead the offense. This isn’t an inviable spot for Orlando given the state of its roster, but it could be a spot to exploit DFS purposes. Somebody is going to have to take shots, and Carter-Williams is a triple-double threat who scores 0.83 DraftKings points per minute.

James Harden vs. Pistons: $10,800 DraftKings/$11,300 FanDuel

31.4% DraftKings Boom/33.3% FanDuel Boom

Harden is listed as questionable to play tonight with neck soreness but is looking likely to play. He sat out Wednesday’s game, although he was able to play on Tuesday when dealing with the same ailment. The missed game on Wednesday likely had more to do with the Nets unlikely to win playing in Utah than it did Harden actually dealing with a serious injury. For this reason, he should be in most player pools without any restrictions. He is going to have to return to his heavy workload carrying the Nets’ offense since Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant remain out. Irving is expected to return to the Nets over the weekend, so this is the last chance for Harden to carry the team on his own.

C.J. McCollum vs. Magic: $7,700 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel

19.7% DraftKings Boom/28.2% FanDuel Boom

McCollum is trending up. Making his way back from a foot injury, he no longer has a playing time restriction and his usage is at his normal rates. Last night was McCollum’s first really strong game since getting healthy. He played 38 minutes with a 33.9% usage rate and scored 35 points while racking up eight assists. For tonight,ย Damian Lillard is resting, which is going to siphon even more usage to McCollum. In addition, he gets to play against the shell of what’s left of the Magic after the trade deadline.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Enes Kanter vs. Magic: $6,900 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel

90.3% DraftKings Bust/63% FanDuel Bust

While Lillard is out for tonight, not all news is bad on the Trail Blazers’ front. Jusuf Nurkic is back after an extended layoff because of a broken hand and a calf injury. Kanter produced some strong fantasy results without Nurkic, but this is going to come to an end. Nurkic will have a minutes restriction tonight but likely won’t have to share the court with Kanter. This likely will lead to a timeshare at center for the short term, which kills Kanter’s fantasy value until his price dips.
