DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | April 27

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Goga Bitadze vs. Trail Blazers: $4,000 DraftKings/$5,100 FanDuel

38.8% DraftKings Boom/33.3% FanDuel Boom

Eventually Bitadze is going to have to play in a game. He continues to get listed as questionable, so he is presumably close to playing. Domantas Sabonis continues to get ruled out in advance of games, so since Bitadze is getting handled differently, the context clues lead one to think he could play tonight. If he does return to action, he’s in a great spot and has the best boom rating of any player on DraftKings. Bitadze will have to play big minutes since both Sabonis and Myles Turner are out. When starting at center this season, Bitadze is averaging 29.25 DraftKings points per game. Bitadze is currently the No. 1 value in the Awesemo NBA DFS projections tonight.

Christian Wood vs. Timberwolves: $8,000 DraftKings/$7,700 FanDuel

27.8% DraftKings Boom/43% FanDuel Boom

After missing Saturday’s game with an ankle injury, Wood is expected to play tonight. Given the current state of the Rockets, he figures to play a massive role during the final few weeks of the regular season. Houston is playing a tight rotation at the moment since John Wall, Sterling Brown, David Nwaba, Eric Gordon and D.J. Augustin are all out. Health is an issue for Wood this season, but he’s averaging over 40 DraftKings points per game when he’s on the court. Going forward, his usage should increase due to all the injuries, which makes him a bit too cheap on FanDuel and DraftKings. This is also a great matchup against Minnesota since its playing on the tail end of a back-to-back while also ranking 28th in the league in defensive efficiency. Make sure to differentiate your lineups in some other areas to combat the popularity of Wood, who is coming in at over 20% in the Awesemo NBA DFS ownership projections.

Jaylen Brown vs. Thunder: $8,400 DraftKings/$8,100 FanDuel

36.5% DraftKings Boom/49.7% FanDuel Boom

The Boston injury situation for tonight is not great. The Celtics need all the wins they can get as they are in the thick of the playoff race, and they will play without Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams and Kemba Walker tonight. Tatum has an ankle injury, Williams continues to deal with knee soreness, and Walker has an injury to his side. Boston should still win against a weak Thunder team, but it’s going to come on Brown’s shoulders due to all the injures (but do note he’s currently the No. 1-owned player in Awesemo’s NBA DFS ownership projections). When Tatum and Walker are off the court this season, Brown has a 37.7% usage rate and scores 48.37 DraftKings points per 36 minutes.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

O.G. Anunoby vs. Nets: $6,700 DraftKings/$7,200 FanDuel

61.7% DraftKings Bust/61.3% FanDuel Bust

It is unclear what the Raptors’ goals are at the moment. Coming into the season, they seemed like a lock for the playoffs, and now they seem likely to miss playing in the postseason. The team has gotten decimated by COVID and injuries, but they can still make it into the play-in tournament if they try for it. The problem here is that rest is always tough to predict. Everybody presumably will play tonight because of where Toronto is in the standings, which makes Anunoby a bit too expensive on FanDuel and DraftKings if this is the case.
