It is a busy night for stars on the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool. Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic and Karl-Anthony Towns all rate out as strong plays, according to the Awesemo NBA daily fantasy projections. This makes it seem like stars and scrubs is once again the optimal lineup build for this slate on FanDuel and DraftKings.

DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | April 29
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Kevin Durant vs. Pacers: $8,500 DraftKings/$9,300 FanDuel
42.4% DraftKings Boom/35.4% FanDuel Boom
Durant was already underpriced. With his minutes trending up as he recovers from hamstring and thigh injuries, Durant was already a strong play on this slate. That was before the news that Kyrie Irving is out tonight because of a groin injury. Without Irving in the mix and James Harden still sidelined, Durant easily becomes one of the top plays on the slate. Brooklyn is fighting for the top seed in the Eastern Conference and now needs a big day from Durant to maintain its lead over the 76ers. When Harden and Irving are off the court this season, Durant has a 36.9% usage rate and scores 59.67 DraftKings points per 36 minutes. Without Irving and Harden tonight, Durant is the No. 1 projected scorer at 56.77 tonight, according to the Awesemo NBA DFS projections.
Willy Hernangomez vs. Thunder: $4,100 DraftKings/$4,900 FanDuel
60.9% DraftKings Boom/53% FanDuel Boom
Hernangomez seemed like a good play last night. Steven Adams was listed as questionable to play, and it looked like Hernangomez was a great late-swap candidate if Adams was unable to play. Instead, Adams ended up playing, but he got injured again early on in the game. As a result, Adams will not play tonight, leading to Hernangomez having the best boom rating on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Looking at his numbers this year, it’s hard to argue against his upside. Hernangomez averages over a fantasy point per minute and could push for 30 minutes in a plus matchup against the Thunder. He is a top-four value play, per the Awesemo NBA DFS projections.

Kent Bazemore vs. Timberwolves: $3,900 DraftKings/$5,300 FanDuel
42.6% DraftKings Boom/22.2% FanDuel Boom
After missing the last three games because of health and safety protocols, Bazemore is returning to the Warriors tonight. Not only is he back in the rotation, Steve Kerr already announced that Bazemore would start tonight. This is huge for his fantasy potential, especially on DraftKings where he was priced down during his absence. The last time Bazemore was in, he started, played 35 minutes and scored 52.25 DraftKings points. The fact that he’s getting thrust right back into the starting lineup is a good sign for his conditioning. Bazemore should play his normal role as a starter tonight.
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Luguentz Dort vs. Pelicans: $6,500 DraftKings/$6,200 FanDuel
68.1% DraftKings Bust/51.7% FanDuel Bust
Dort is a great defensively player, and his offense is coming around to the point that he’s clearly one of the best bargain contracts in the NBA. He has shown upside on a handful of recent DFS slates, but his salary is too high. Even though his scoring is up this month, it isn’t sustainable. Dort is shooting 45.7% from 3 during April, and this is a number that should see heavy regression. For the season, he’s shooting 34.7% from 3 after shooting 29.7% from 3 last season.
