DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | April 5

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Jordan McLaughlin vs. Kings: $4,400 DraftKings/$4,600 FanDuel

64.6% DraftKings Boom/69.7% FanDuel Boom

McLaughlin is the strongest value play on the slate as of this afternoon. Minnesota is dealing with a ton of injuries in the backcourt, pushing McLaughlin into a starting role where he will likely play as many minutes as he can handle. Jaylen Nowell, Ricky Rubio, D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley are all expected to miss tonight’s game. In a similar situation in the Timberwolves’ last game, McLaughlin ended up logging 42 minutes. Beyond the minutes opening up, this is a great game to target in general since it has a slate-high total of 235.

Kenrich Williams vs. Thunder: $5,100 DraftKings/$4,700 FanDuel

50.8% DraftKings Boom/68.3% FanDuel Boom

The Thunder are incredibly thin tonight. Due to injuries, Oklahoma City is only going to have eight players active tonight. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Darius Bazley, Luguentz Dort, Josh Hall, , Isaiah Roby, Al Horford and Mike Muscala are all ruled out in advance of this game. The Thunder have nearly as many players injured as they active. As a result, Williams is going to have to log heavy minutes and could potentially even carry a sizable usage rate. Williams rarely takes many shots, but the same goes for all the other players active for the Thunder and somebody has to shoot. At least Williams is normally in the rotation, so this makes him a higher priority to get the ball to than guys like Tony Bradley or Darius Miller.

Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Kings: $10,600 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel

31.5% DraftKings Boom/32.5% FanDuel Boom

By default Towns is a high-priority play on this slate. A ton of value is opening up at other position, while center doesn’t have quite as many strong plays. Due to the all the injuries that the Wolves are dealing with, it stands to reason that Towns is in line for significant usage. Last game he played 44 minutes with Minnesota short-handed and scored 70.5 DraftKings points on 32.6% usage. In the game prior Towns posted a 37.4% usage rate. This is a situation where one of the best fantasy producers in the league is getting extra minutes, extra usage and is in a great matchup.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Donovan Mitchell vs. Mavericks: $9,100 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel

76.8% DraftKings Bust/63.6% FanDuel Bust

Mike Conley is returning the Jazz’s lineup after resting last game. This is something that happens whenever Utah plays in a back-to-back situation. Whenever Conley rests in a game, all the Jazz are underpriced, and then the prices go up and everybody is overpriced for the next game. This leaves Mitchell, Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles as weak plays for this slate. However, fear not — the prices will slowly start to go back down and then all these guys will become strong plays when Conley rests the next time Utah plays games on consecutive days.
