DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | April 8

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Bobby Portis vs. Mavericks: $5,300 DraftKings/$5,800 FanDuel

50.8% DraftKings Boom/40.9% FanDuel Boom

Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to miss another game due to knee soreness. He sat out the last two games and is listed as questionable to play today. Assuming he sits, Portis should draw into the starting lineup. Portis started on Tuesday against the Warriors and scored 33.75 DraftKings points in 28 minutes. He is a bit priced up with the expectation that Giannis would sit, but his salary hasn’t gone up enough. Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton are both priced about appropriately although Portis is about $1,000 too cheap on both sites. He averages 34.33 DraftKings points as a starter this season.

Isaiah Hartenstein vs. Thunder: $4,400 DraftKings/$4,000 FanDuel

37.1% DraftKings Boom/58.5% FanDuel Boom

Hartenstein’s role is really difficult to nail down. He remains in the rotation since Larry Nance Jr. and Jarrett Allen are out, but there is no consistency to his playing time. Even so, Hartenstein has the best boom rating of any player on FanDuel and the second-best boom score behind Portis on DraftKings. He is cheap enough with the upside to make the risk of rostering him worthwhile. Hartenstein scores 1.1 fantasy points per minute and played 27 minutes last game. In the three games prior, he played 17, 19 and 26 minutes. The hope is he gets over 25 minutes again, but the good news is that Hartenstein is a strong enough per-minute producer to not kill lineups even if he only gets 18 to 20.

Luka Doncic vs. Milwaukee: $10,900 DraftKings/$10,300 FanDuel

23.7% DraftKings Boom/37.1% FanDuel Boom

It is unclear whether Kristaps Porzingis will play tonight. He typically rests on the second legs of back-to-backs, but he isn’t listed on the injury report for tonight. If he is out, Doncic will get a slight usage bump, although Doncic is the best option to pay up for no matter the status of Porzingis. Doncic is priced down after some mediocre results lately, although it’s not like these are terrible fantasy games. He has scored at least 43 DraftKings points in all six of his games since coming back from an injury. This also becomes a more favorable matchup since Giannis is out for the Bucks. With Giannis off the floor, the Bucks allow 4.2 more points per 100 possessions.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

O.G. Anunoby vs. Bulls: $7,000 DraftKings/$8,000 FanDuel

60.1% DraftKings Bust/51.1% FanDuel Bust

The Raptors are really short-handed for tonight’s game. They will only have eight players active since Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet remain out with injuries, and DeAndre’ Bembry was suspended following the altercation that went down during the Raptors’ last game. The funny thing is that Anunoby caused basically all of it but faces no real punishment. This seemingly puts Anunoby in a good spot for tonight, but the pricing is an issue. He is as expensive as he has ever been, and he’s picking up a chunk of ownership on both sites. This makes Anunoby a fade tonight.
