Boom/Bust NBA Fantasy Projections | May 2
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Boom CandidatesÂ
Luka Doncic vs. Kings: $10,800/$10,600
25.8% DraftKings Boom/32.6% FanDuel Boom
Doncic is the lone Mavericks star again today with Kristaps Porzingis out again. Doncic is coming off a 31-point, 20-assist triple-double. Today he faces a Kings team that is incapable of playing defense. Not only should Doncic be able to score at will, but his teammates should as well, which could lead to another high assist total for him tonight. While the price is high, Doncic looks worth paying up for.
LaMelo Ball vs. Heat: $6,800/$6,100
37.0% DraftKings Boom/57.8% FanDuel Boom
Ball returned from injury yesterday, immediately re-joining the starting lineup. He totaled 11 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, to go along with some defensive stats. Ball has the upside to outperform that today, as he attempted just 10 shots last game. He should put the ball up a little more today, with the Hornets needing to score more to compete with the Heat.

Robert Williams vs. Blazers: $5,200/$5,400
27.4% DraftKings Boom/42.4% FanDuel Boom
Williams is playing his third game back from injury. In the first two, he play 16 and 23 minutes. Today, Awesemo projects Williams for 23.75 minutes. With Williams getting his legs under him and also raising his floor time, he is getting closer to where he was prior to the injury. With double-double and multi-block upside, Williams is a good play at a modest price. His size will be needed to bang down low with Portland, as the Celtics need to keep the Blazers off the offensive glass.
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Jayson Tatum vs. Blazers: $9,900/$10,100
68.9% DraftKings Bust/60.6% FanDuel Bust
Tatum has seen his price rise heading into this game, coming off a 60-point outburst last time out. It’s not typically wise to jump on a player immediately after a massive performance like that since the DFS site is overvaluing him. Now, Tatum need a really big performance just to hit value. Tatum nearly put up a 35-point triple-double two games ago. At this price, it would not have been a boom performance. Just stay away from Tatum today, as there are plenty more scenarios where he is a bust than a good play.
