NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Today 5/3

LeBron James is complaining about the NBA play-in tournament and it’s not hard to see why. After losing last night, the Lakers are tied for the seventh spot in the West. This means they might have to go through a play-in game to make the playoffs. To make matters worse, LeBron is dealing with an ankle injury and is questionable to play. This potentially sets up value for the Lakers and a familiar-looking player is already on top of the DraftKings and FanDuel boom odds on the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool. Let’s check out who else is popping in the NBA fantasy projections tonight.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Alex Caruso vs. Nuggets: $3,000 DraftKings/$3,700 FanDuel

56.5% DraftKings Boom/50% FanDuel Boom

It is a great day at Awesemo when Caruso looks like a strong NBA DFS pick on FanDuel and DraftKings. LeBron is questionable to play after leaving last night’s game early with the same ankle injury, which cost him over a month of action, and this isn’t the Lakers’ only worry. Dennis Schroder is out for at least 10 days because of COVID. This thrusts Caruso into a bigger role. He is already a strong value without Schroder in the mix, and he becomes an unavoidable play if LeBron is also ruled out. Caruso could start at point guard and log heavy minutes if the Lakers are without Schroder and James. Caruso is currently the No. 1 value play, according to the Awesemo NBA DFS projections.

Josh Jackson vs. Magic: $5,600 DraftKings/$5,200 FanDuel

22% DraftKings Boom/38.9% FanDuel Boom

The Pistons’ injury report is longer than a CVS receipt. Tanking at the end of the season, neither the Pistons nor the Magic want to win this game in a battle for draft positioning. As a result, Detroit is sitting Rodney McGruder, Wayne Ellington, Mason Plumlee, Dennis Smith, Jerami Grant and Cory Joseph tonight. This secures Jackson’s spot in the starting lineup, which is a role he played 35 minutes in last game. While he didn’t perform well in those minutes, Jackson averages nearly a fantasy point per minute, so he should score over 30 fantasy points more often than not in this matchup if he gets the same playing time he got last game.

Russell Westbrook vs. Pacers: $11,000 DraftKings/$11,200 FanDuel

28.4% DraftKings Boom/29.8% FanDuel Boom

Westbrook is the safest pay-up option on every slate that involves the Wizards. It is unclear how his price hasn’t move much over the last month. Given his recent production, he warrants a price tag head and shoulders above every other player in the league, yet he never does. Westbrook scored 74 DraftKings points in the Wizards’ last game, and he has now scored over 50 DraftKings points in 21 of his last 22 games. Playing Westbrook every slate over the last six weeks was a very profitable strategy in hindsight and should continue to work going forward unless his price goes up.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Dwayne Bacon vs. Pistons: $4,900 DraftKings/$5,100 FanDuel

44.8% DraftKings Bust/37.9% FanDuel Bust

Bacon is priced up and is picking up double-digit ownership in the Awesemo NBA DFS Ownership Projections on both FanDuel and DraftKings. This makes Bacon tough to roster. Even though he’s coming off one of his better games of the season, his playing time is totally secure. Gary Harris only played 24 minutes last game due to foul trouble and more minutes for him should take away a bit from a popular Bacon.
