Last night’s NBA fantasy slate was dominated by injuries. Joel Embiid and Davis Bertans leaving early with injuries busted many lineups. At least for today, injury news is available in advance. The most prominent news is that Anthony Davis is not expected to play after suffering a groin injury in a Game 4 loss to the Suns. This looms large on FanDuel and DraftKings and bumps the projections for some Lakers in the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Nikola Jokic vs. Trail Blazers: $10,400 DraftKings/$10,500 FanDuel
42.5% DraftKings Boom/41.1% FanDuel Boom
This is potentially the spot where Jokic finally sees big playoff minutes. To this point, Denver is playing it cautious with his minutes. He is only playing 32.2 minutes per game in this series and topped out at 35.5 minutes. With the series tied at two games apiece and pivotal Game 5 on tap tonight, it’s reasonable to expect Jokic to play a few extra minutes today. He’s averaging over 50 DraftKings in the light number of minutes he’s currently playing, putting him in line for over 60 fantasy points if his minutes creep up to around 40. Jokic has played over 40 minutes in playoff games in previous seasons, so the Nuggets could have been saving him for the final games of this series.
LeBron James vs. Suns: $9,800 DraftKings/$10,000 FanDuel
26.6% DraftKings Boom/22.3% FanDuel Boom
It is close to do-or-die time for the Lakers. This series against the Suns is knotted at two wins apiece, and Phoenix is now a prohibitive betting favorite in the series. Not only do the Suns have homecourt advantage, but Anthony Davis is hurt and Chris Paul is looking healthier. With this in mind, the weight of the Lakers’ offense is going to fall on James’ shoulder. This is a situation that has played out many times over the last dozen seasons, and James almost always comes through. When Davis is off the court this season, James has a 33.2% usage rate and scores 1.5 DraftKings points per minute. The situation the Lakers are in could mean that LeBron will push for 40 or more minutes.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Facundo Campazzo vs. Trail Blazers: $5,900 DraftKings/$6,200 FanDuel
71.7% DraftKings Bust/71.4% FanDuel Bust
Campazzo comes into tonight with his highest price point of the season. While he is playing well against Portland this series and helps filling the role left behind by Jamal Murray, it’s hard to see much upside when his salary is this lofty. Even while playing at his highest level of the season, Campazzo is averaging 31.63 DraftKings points against the Blazers. There are better ways to spend salary tonight, and with studs in good spots, this looks like a strong slate to make stars-and-scrubs builds rather than roster players priced in the mid-range.
