Tonight’s NBA Fantasy slate kicks off the first game of the Nuggets vs. Suns series. Phoenix opens as a favorite after knocking off the defending champion Lakers in the opening round. The second game of the series between the Bucks and Nets is one of the more interesting games of the season. Brooklyn won the first game but could have an issue moving forward since James Harden is out with a hamstring injury. This opens up rare value our NBA DFS lineups on a two-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel and brings some interesting names into play in the projections on the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Blake Griffin vs. Bucks: $4,100 DraftKings/$5,100 FanDuel
48.9% DraftKings Boom/24.3% FanDuel Boom
James Harden got injured early in Game 1 of this series. He didn’t even last a minute into Saturday’s game before heading to the locker room and ultimately getting ruled out. Harden will not play tonight, and it’s unclear when he will return. Without him in the lineup, Griffin ended up orchestrating a lot of the offense. At this point in his career, Griffin isn’t the same athlete he once was, but his game is more well rounded. Griffin is one of the better-shooting big men in the league and he’s a strong passer. This led to him playing 35 minutes on Saturday without Harden. He is easily a top value if he gets anywhere close to that kind of playing time again.
Chris Paul vs. Nuggets: $6,500 DraftKings/$7,300 FanDuel
34.3% DraftKings Boom/20.4% FanDuel Boom
Paul appears healthy again, but circumstances are limiting his fantasy output. The biggest issue was that the last couple games of the series against the Lakers were not competitive. As a result, Paul didn’t have to play full minutes. He only averaged 26 minutes over the final couple games of the series, although he still performed well from a fantasy perspective in those minutes. Paul averaged 26.25 DraftKings points in the minimal minutes he played. Now that this is a new series and Game 1 has a tight spread, Paul figures to get back to playing over 30 minutes. This should allow him to produce more in line with his regular season numbers when he averaged 37.93 DraftKings points per game.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Bryn Forbes vs. Nets: $4,500 DraftKings/$3,900 FanDuel
84.4% DraftKings Bust/75.6% FanDuel Bust
When Donte DiVincenzo got injured earlier in the playoffs, the belief was that Forbes would move into the starting lineup. Instead, Milwaukee ended up opting to start Pat Connaughton, so Forbes didn’t see a dramatic increase in playing time. In this series against the Nets, P.J. Tucker has moved into the Bucks’ starting lineup. This led to Forbes playing just 22 minutes last game, and some of that came in garbage time. At the moment, it doesn’t look like Forbes is in line for extended minutes, and he’s reliant on making an unsustainably high percentage of 3’s to make his salary worthwhile.
