DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Basketball Rankings

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PF Obi Toppin — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A

With Julius Randle out for the remainder of the season, the Knicks will get to see what Obi Toppin is all about. What they have seen in the last two games is very promising. Toppin has put up back-to-back 20-point games, and he has also averaged six rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He has gone for a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe and has finished with 33 or more DraftKings points in both games. Toppin is the best value play according to Awesemo’s Fantasy Basketball Rankings, with a B Grade and A Value on both sites.

The Knicks are only 5-point home underdogs without Randle, which is a little surprising playing the Nets with a healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. This game is much more important for the Nets, which should make this a fantastic showdown at Madison Square Garden. Toppin will be an extremely popular option on this slate without Randle. He ranks first on DraftKings and second on FanDuel in Awesemo’s ownership projections. Toppin is projected to play 31.5 minutes and be one of the best values on the slate tonight.

PG Luka Doncic — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

The best pay-up option on the slate is Luka Doncic. He is by far the best option in Awesemo’s NBA daily fantasy projections, where he has a positive value on both DraftKings and FanDuel despite the steep price tag. Doncic continues to lead the league in usage rate with 37.1% per game. He has an extremely high upside that is shown in Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool. Doncic has the highest boom percentage on both sites, as he has posted over 70 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. Tonight is a great opportunity to continue that trend against the Pistons.

The Mavericks are 5.5-point road favorites, as the Pistons have done a great job of covering the spread over the last month despite having a 23-56 record. The Pistons have won three straight games as they continue to sit players in an effort to tank for a higher chance at the No. 1 draft pick. They allowed 62 points in the paint in their last game, which is very promising for Doncic, who ranks second in the league in drives per game. Doncic has triple-double upside and has the highest NBA DFS projected ownership on FanDuel tonight.

PG Kyrie Irving — Grades: A, A | Values: C, A

Kyrie Irving is another popular point guard on FanDuel. His salary is far too cheap on FanDuel at $8,600 compared to $10,000 on DraftKings. As previously mentioned, this game means way more to the Nets than the Knicks. Irving is going to play 40 or more minutes tonight, even though Awesemo’s projections have him for 38.4 minutes, which is the highest on the slate. Irving has played 40 or more minutes in five straight games. During that time he is averaging 27.6 points per game while shooting just 39.8% from the field.

The Knicks have won five of their last seven games, but the Nets have won all three meetings this season. Granted, their wins have been by a combined 10 points. The Knicks should find a way to keep this game competitive so that Irving reaches his 40 minutes. This is the Nets’ last road game in the regular season. If they win, they will play in the first round of the play-in tournament and will have a chance at the seventh seed. Irving ranks third in both NBA DFS ownership projections and boom percentage on FanDuel, where he should be prioritized.

SF Jaylen Hoard — Grades: C, C | Values: B, A

Writing about this Oklahoma City Thunder team has turned into an absolute mess. Their rotation is extremely tight, as they played seven total players last night. One only played four minutes, while four of the other six played at least 43. These are absurd playing time and rotations for this Thunder team. They all remain cheap, but the best option is Jaylen Hoard. He put up a stat line that Shaquille O’Neal would be proud of, with 24 points and 21 rebounds for 61.75 DraftKings points. Hoard is tough to ignore playing this much.

This was the second game in the last three where Hoard played 40 or more minutes. In the previous game, he finished with 11 points and 20 rebounds. He is the second-best value on FanDuel, where he is projected to play only 25.7 minutes. Hoard is tough to project given the matchup against the Jazz and what the front office is wanting to do with this rotation. They are 17.5-point underdogs implied for a slate-low 101 points. Make sure to monitor the Thunder starting lineup, as Hoard may once again be an incredible value option.
