NBA Fantasy Picks Today: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball Rankings

After a massive 12-game NBA slate, there are only two games tonight in a TNT doubleheader. With only two games on the slate, there are three players listed below – one in each pricing tier. DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Basketball Rankings

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

C Nikola Jokic — Grades: A, A | Values: B, B

Despite there being only two games on this slate, there are several stud options to pay-up for. However, going all the way to the top with Nikola Jokic seems like the way to go. After a slow-start post All-Star break, Jokic is back to being as dominant as ever. Over the last three games, Jokic is averaging a triple-double with 38.7 points, 15 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game. He is shooting an absurd 68.3% from the field while averaging a 34.8% usage rate per game during that time. No one on the slate has Jokic’s level of upside. He can kick it into another gear. In our Boom/Bust Tool, Jokic has the highest boom percentage on DraftKings and third-highest on FanDuel.

The Nuggets hosted the Warriors two games ago, but the Warriors barely traveled with any of their starters. However, they did have their big man Kevon Looney. Jokic made quick work of Looney as he had a triple-double with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the Nuggets to the win. They come into this game as two-point home underdogs, as the Warriors have everyone back tonight. Awesemo projects Jokic to lead the slate in fantasy points, which is no surprise. Over the last three games, Jokic is averaging a ridiculous 82.4 DraftKings points per game. According to our ownership projections, Jokic will be the highest owned player on DraftKings. No reason to fade him.

SG Klay Thompson — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A

Klay Thompson is the mid-range play on this slate being targeted. In his last game, Thompson shot a season-high 23 field goal attempts. He only made nine, but he scored 20 points and 32.8 DraftKings points. It has taken a little while for Thompson to get back to his old ways on the basketball court. He has played in 20 games this season and is shooting a career-low 40.9% from the field and 36.2% from behind the arc. The field goal attempts are still there, which provides upside at his mid-range price tag. Despite there being no 3-point bonus on FanDuel, that is where he is popping the most. Awesemo projects Thompson to be the best value on FanDuel tonight. He is also projected to have the second-highest boom percentage on FanDuel in our Boom/Bust Tool.

The Warriors finally got back on track with a victory over the Clippers in their last game. They had previously lost five-straight games and have given up the second spot in the Western Conference standings to the Grizzlies. As mentioned above, they are road favorites in this matchup implied to score 115 points, which is tied for the second-highest on the slate. The depth of the Warriors is elite. That is shown in our ownership projections as three of the top five players in projected ownership come from the Warriors. However, Thompson is the only player in the top five on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The accuracy is definitely lacking, but the field goal attempts and the upside for Thompson to get scorching hot at any given moment are not. Time to get hot against the Nuggets tonight.

PF Georges Niang — Grades: E, E | Values: E, E

There is not a lot of value standing out on this short slate, but Georges Niang provides a little bit as he is priced barely above the minimum on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. He rates out absolutely terrible in our NBA DFS Rankings, but over his last three games, Niang is averaging 13.3 points per game while shooting 51.9% from the field and 43.5% from behind the arc. He has made at least one 3-pointer in 23-straight games. That is where he sets himself apart from the rest of the value plays. Niang has the upside to get hot from the perimeter. He has made 10 3-pointers in his last three games. The addition of James Harden allows for open perimeter shots.

The 76ers have the highest implied total on the slate at 119.5 points. They are four-point home favorites, as this game has an impressive total of 234.5 points. Most of these points will come from Harden and Joel Embiid obviously, but Niang will certainly get his opportunities to cash in from downtown. The Nets rank 21st in 3-point attempts allowing 36.1 per game. It will not take much for Niang to reach value at this cheap price tag. He has averaged 21.4 DraftKings points per game in his last three games. He will be a key salary saver to fit in Jokic and any other stud in a stars and scrubs lineup build. The play is not pretty, but Niang provides value tonight.
