NBA Picks: Prop Report presented by No House Advantage

I’m going to give you the three props I’ve got my eye on for you to utilize in your three-, four- and five-point confidence slots on Monday’s two-game NBA slate.

Pascal Siakam–OVER 8.5 Rebounds

The Toronto Raptors ran Siakam, Kyle Lowry, and Fred VanVleet into the ground on Saturday, each playing 44-plus minutes in their Game 4 win. With the series tied 2-2-2, I don’t see Nick Nurse’s seven-man rotation changing in this gargantuan Game 5. During the regular season, Pascal averaged 7.5 rebounds per 36 minutes, the exact same mark he currently sports in these playoffs. If we factor in the extra 8-10 minutes of run I project above that rate for Siakam, I’m going to shade on the over for this prop.

Fred VanVleet–OVER 19.5 Points

Early on in this series, the O/U on VanVleet points was sitting in the low- to mid-20’s coming off of a dynamic series against the Brooklyn Nets. Well this just in: Boston is not Brooklyn. VanVleet has shot the ball atrociously from the field against the Celtics, going an icy 32.9% from the field and 31.9% from three. While none of that sounds encouraging, here’s what is: nearly 20 field-goal attempts per-game in the series. He hasn’t shied away from chucking regardless of the result, so 19.5 points feels way too low for the 42-44 minutes of aggressive Fred VanVleet we’re going to see tonight.

Kyle Lowry–OVER 29.5 Points+Assists

Sensing a pattern here? What I’m planning to do today is ‘stack’ the production of the Toronto Raptors in what I hope to be a faster-paced game than we’ve seen so far in this series. The reason I’m erring on the side of Raptors is the insane amount of minutes, but I would suggest running it back with the overs for Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, or Jaylen Brown in your other confidence slots. Similar to the stars mentioned about, these three Celtics saw their minutes rise into the 40’s in Game 4. We’re obviously gunning for 5/5 correct props in our lineups, so putting combining multiple props that are all correlated with a higher-scoring game than expected makes a lot of sense to me on this slate.
