🏀 NBA DFS SuperDraft Lineup Advice | Friday, February 5

We have some exciting games on tonight’s slate, especially the nightcap between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers, and I’m here to provide some lineup advice for those playing in SuperDraft’s NBA DFS tournaments.

If you haven’t heard of SuperDraft, it’s an innovative new way to play DFS. Instead of using a salary cap, players receive multipliers that inversely correspond to their value. For example, Stephen Curry will come with a lower multiplier because he’s already assured to play most of the game. In comparison, a rotational player like Danuel House will receive a higher multiplier to compensate for his limited minutes.

Top Five Low-Multiplier Plays

Using Awesemo’s SuperDraft Projections and OddsShopper’s projected point totals, here are the top-five high-value players for your NBA SuperDraft lineup. For a player to qualify, they must have a multiplier at or below 1.35x.

James Harden (1.1x)

The projections absolutely love Harden tonight, and he’s the highest-ranked player with a multiplier this low. That’s partially because the Nets will play in what’s projected to be the slate’s highest-scoring game, with the OddsShopper total set between 239.5 and 240.5. While Harden has dealt with an injury recently, he played (and posted a triple-double) against the Clippers anyway.

Kevin Durant (1.15x)

Like Harden, Durant should have a featured role in this high-scoring game. His multiplier is a bit more generous too, which will make his production all the more valuable to your lineup.

Fred VanVleet (1.35x)

VanVleet is the third straight player from tonight’s showdown in Brooklyn. He just posted 54 points (and 11 3-pointers) against the Magic, and he’ll face an even worse defense tonight.

Russell Westbrook (1.25x)

The Wizards and Heat are projected to combine for 230 points, the second most on the slate, and Westbrook will probably be responsible for a lot of the offensive production. He is averaging 28.7 points per game over his last three appearances, and he is a great value at a multiplier set this high.

Paul George (1.3x)

George should do some damage against the Celtics, especially with a multiplier this high. In the one game in which George played 30-plus minutes against the Celtics last year, he posted 25 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. The OddsShopper total (219.5 to 220.5) does leave a bit to be desired, however.

Top Five High-Multiplier Plays

I’ll also use Awesemo’s SuperDraft Projections and OddsShopper’s projected point totals to identify the top-five low-value players for tonight’s slate. Only players with multipliers at or above 1.65x will qualify.

Hamidou Diallo (1.85x)

Our projections absolutely love Diallo tonight, and that should come as no surprise, as he posted 16 points and 9 rebounds against the Rockets on Wednesday. More importantly, he earned a boatload of minutes with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and George Hill sidelined. With Luguentz Dort now out too, Diallo is set up for even more work. The OddsShopper total may not be very high, as it’s set between 220 and 220.5, but Oklahoma City’s injuries make him a great option at this multiplier.

Darius Bazley (1.75x)

Bazley posted a double-double on Wednesday, and the Thunder will need him to post similar numbers if they want to compensate for their banged-up backcourt. It helps that their opponent, the Timberwolves, aren’t particularly great in the paint without Karl-Anthony Towns.

Al Horford (1.65x)

Here is one more Thunder player for you to consider. The Wolves have been atrocious against opposing centers since they lost Towns, and Horford should take advantage of that tonight.

Collin Sexton (1.65x)

Our projections also love Sexton, who finds himself right at the cutoff for high-multiplier players. Sexton will play the Bucks tonight in a game that should see 226 points, per OddsShopper, good for the fourth most on the slate.

Norman Powell (1.7x)

I’ve already identified the game between the Nets and Raptors as one to target, and our projections expect Powell to be a big-time contributor in this evening’s contest.

Top Five SuperDraft Fades

Which players do our SuperDraft Projections dislike? Here are some players that you should avoid when building your NBA SuperDraft lineup.

Derrick Rose (1.55x)

Rose is the worst-ranked active player on our projections with a multiplier at 1.55x or above, and he’ll play in what’s projected to be the slate’s lowest-scoring game, with an OddsShopper total set between 213.5 and 214.

Goran Dragic (1.5x)

Dragic is the worst-ranked active player with a multiplier at 1.5x or above. While we should see a lot of scoring in tonight’s battle between the Wizards and Heat, Dragic hasn’t played well since returning from injury. He is averaging just 6.5 points per game since then, and he is shooting just 25% from the field.

Jarrett Allen (1.5x)

The projections also dislike Allen, whose multiplier is set far too low for a rotational bench player stuck behind Andre Drummond.

Blake Griffin (1.55x)

Griffin’s star power likely has this multiplier set so high, but you can’t expect him to do much in what should be a low-scoring game. He has scored single-digit points in three of his last five appearances too.

Bradley Beal (1.05x)

Our projections don’t hate Beal, but with a multiplier so low, it’s hard to get excited about restoring him, especially since Westbrook will be active and comes with a significantly better multiplier.
