Uhhuhbro deep dives into Game 4 between the Celtics and Heat for your NBA DFS showdown lineups on DraftKings + FanDuel.
NBA DFS Showdown Slate Review for DraftKings | Celtics vs. Heat Game 4
Last night in the DraftKings NBA Showdown $750,000 Wednesday Shootaround ($200,000 to first, $20 to enter), we had three lucky winners who split first place and profited $106,000 each. The winning NBA DFS lineup scored a 266.75 and won by 4.25 points:
We were all wondering if this slate would be decided by a punt play, and it turns out we got our answer in the first quarter in the form of $2,000, 1.8%-owned Robert Williams. The three winners played Williams in a combined 16 of 93 lineups. Of course, you had to have him paired with Tyler Herro at Captain, who checked in at 11.3% ownership.
Boom of the night goes to Herro ($9,900 Captain at 11.3%, $6,600 Utility at 49.5%), who went for 7.7x, while bust goes to Jae Crowder ($9,000 Captain at 6.8%, $6,000 Utility at 46.9%), who went for 2.3x. The following players did not score a point:
- Enes Kanter, $1,800 16.6%
- Kelly Olynyk, $4,000 6.8%
- Derrick Jones, $3,000 3.8%
- Grant Williams, $2,800 2.5%
- Kendrick Nunn, $2,400 1.6%
This GPP filled with 44,117 entries from 14,755 unique players. Of those players, 3,150 (21.3%) made money.
The 150-Maxers
We had 62 150-maxers, making up 21% of the field. One made money, profiting $6,000 with a fourth-place finish. Fifty out of 62 150-maxers cashed fewer than 25 lineups, and 16 out of 62 cashed 10 or fewer. The bottom three 150-maxers combined to cash two lineups.
The most popular lineup was played 1,161 times, carrying a team ownership (TO%) of 244.3%:
This is going to sound familiar, but the 16 most popular lineups played all carried TO% of over 200%. In fact, 26,464 lineups (60%) entered had TO% of 200% or more. The winning lineup last night had TO% of 179.1% and used a team salary of $49,500.
Even though a salary of $49,900 or more has not won a slate in two weeks, 37.1% of the field used all the salary they had or left $100 on the table.
In my ongoing effort to look for patterns in these winning lineups, I have updated the spreadsheet I shared yesterday with more information. It now covers the past 35 DraftKings NBA DFS Showdown slates and includes stack type, more Captain info, GPP size and game result.
If your team salary or projected ownership of a future lineup is outside the range of the last 35 slates, maybe tinker around some more. Look for a game result close to what you expect to happen and perhaps a similar lineup will emerge victorious again. But, as we know, every slate is different. Tonight we have the Lakers and Nuggets again. Good luck!
