Friday, Nov. 13

David Montgomery, RB | Chicago Bears (Concussion): The Bears held Montgomery out of practice again on Thursday. He is still trying to work his way through the league’s concussion protocol. Montgomery now has three days to clear concussion protocol ahead of his week 10 match against the Vikings. There have been rumblings that the Bears may activate Lamar Miller from the team’s practice squad if Montgomery cannot play. The Bears would likely take a committee approach between Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson and Ryan Nall in week 10. Montgomery is doubtful at the moment.

Joe Mixon, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Foot): Mixon was a non-participant at practice Friday for the Bengals due to a nagging foot injury. It’s now beginning to look like the Bengals will deploy Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine Sunday when the Bengals face the Steelers. Bernard can be viewed as an RB2 in week 10.

Devonta Freeman, RB New York Giants (Ankle): Freeman suffered a setback during practice on Thursday for the Giants and reaggravated his ankle injury. Wayne Gallman will see the lion’s share of work in the running game, and Alfred Morris should mix in. Gallman will carry RB3 status heading into week 10.

Kenny Golladay, WR | Detroit Lions (Hip): The Lions held Golladay out of practice on Friday. He is still dealing with a hip that has kept him sidelined the last couple of weeks. The Lions will now turn to Danny AmendolaMarvin Hall and Marvin Jones in week 10. Jones is the preferred option out of the bunch. However, Jones is no more than a touchdown-dependent WR3 against a Washington team that ranks No. 1 in passing DVOA.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): The Panthers have officially ruled McCaffrey out for week 10. Mike Davis can safely be deployed across all formats.

T.J. Hockenson, TE | Detroit Lions ( Toe): Hockenson’s name popped up on the injury report for the Lions on Thursday as a DNP. This news alarmed fantasy owners, but I can actually report some good news on this situation. Hockenson practiced in full for the Lions on Friday. The Lions expect Hockenson to suit up on Sunday, barring any setbacks ahead of Sunday.

I'm a wannabe athlete whose athletic career ended after a long tenure riding the bench through JV baseball. The fantasy sports and sports betting degen side of me blossomed at age 12 when I found fantasy baseball and football, and led to a 12-year submergence into the poker scene -- I started playing "secret" cash games in my parents' basements by age 14. Luckily, I've finally found what I love to do -- write about "fake sports," which my girlfriend refers to it as, though it only took me until age 30. If you decide you like the words I write and follow me on Twitter (@nd_joyce), I apologize in advance for the copious amounts of dog photos you will see.
