We’ve got a few early stand out options at each position and in each price range. Fire up some cheap(ish) Ezekiel Elliott at home to the hapless Miami Dolphins.

Quarterbacks

  • Kirk Cousins was the first name that stood out on DraftKings, at $5,100 with a home date against the Oakland Raiders on the schedule. Rostering Cousins means gaining access to the most concentrated passing offence in the NFL. Both Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are under $7,000 on DraftKings, too. Of course, the main concern will be game script – its entirely possible the Vikings shut the door on the Raiders and ram Dalvin Cook down their throats, a la Week 1. Cousins is also one of the cheaper QBs on Yahoo at $25.
  • This NY Giants defense is BAD and Jameis Winston showed signs of life last week against the Panthers. Through two weeks, the Giants sit third in the NFL in pace and 28th in time of possession. This is another concentrated stack option featuring Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, who are also both under $7,000. Though the Arians/Bowles defense has been spectacular against RBs through two weeks, they were porous last season, ranking 28th in fantasy points allowed to RBs, so bringing it back with Saquon Barkley isn’t out of the question. Evan Engram is also an option.

Wide Receivers

  • D.K. Metcalf is getting targets and producing through two games. This week, the Seahawks get a Drew Brees-less Saints side that features the leagues most susceptible fantasy defense to opposing WRs. He is $4,700 on DraftKings, and $14 on Yahoo.
  • Both DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffrey are banged up heading into Week 3 against the Lions. It’s a tough match-up, but if they are out, Nelson Agholor running out of the slot (avoiding Darius Slay) would become the best value on the slate at $3,600 on DraftKings and $14 on Yahoo.

Running Backs

  • For some reason, Ezekiel Elliott is the third highest-priced RB on Yahoo at $33, a full $7 less than Saquon Barkley. The Cowboys are home to the flow-chart Miami Dolphins on Sunday. No need to overthink this one. Hit that lock button.
  • James Conner might miss Week 3, but these sharp sits priced up Jaylen Samuels in anticipation. As well, with the Big Ben news this morning, this offence isn’t looking so hot.
  • LeSean McCoy has an MRI scheduled for his injured ankle. If he is out, Damien Williams gets close to lock territory at $5,100 in the highest-totaled game of the week as the Chiefs square off against the Ravens.
  • Watch the Devin Singletary injury status. He left last week’s contest against the New York football Giants with a hamstring injury. If he ends up as a full go in practice, fire him up against the Bengals terrible run defense at just $4,300. If he is out, Frank Gore is the play, especially in half-point PPR leagues.

Tight Ends

  • Mark Andrews chalk week. The Ravens TE has put up back-to-back 100 yards receiving weeks, but his price has risen to just $4,600. Now, he gets the Chiefs awful TE defense who gave up the most fantasy points to TEs last season and ranked 30th in DVOA against the position in 2018.
  • Zach Ertz may also benefit from the injured Eagles receiving corps. To boot, backup Dallas Goedert re-injured his calf last night, meaning the TE targets will concentrate on Ertz.

I've been obsessed with fantasy sports since as long as I can remember. Back in 1993, while seated in the last row of Mr. MacMillan's math class, I'm fairly certain a few buddies of mine and I invented daily fantasy sports -- popping down our fivers and using nothing more than a newspaper box score, we'd make our NHL player picks for the night's action. Twenty years later I started out playing DFS on DraftStreet, when three-max tourneys with 490 people were a big deal, and I've been hooked ever since. More than anything, I'm interested in using my technical writing skills to articulate and clarify our content in order to help you become a better fantasy sports players player. Armed with Awesemo's grades and the projections from our experts, we're here to help you take the next step. You can contact me by emailing [email protected].
