In this column, we will review the basics of Jock MKT, including how it differs from making regular DFS picks and how it aligns with the fantasy football games you already know. Below are three of the best Jock MKT NFL picks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Week 6 Thursday Night Football matchup, based on the expert NFL DFS projections from the No. 1 DFS player in the world, Alex Baker.
Jock MKT Starter Kit: NFL Picks | Buccaneers vs. Eagles
To begin, enter the NFL Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is underway. Leading up until kickoff on the slate’s first game, bid on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging up to $25. See potential injury news that could open an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the backup, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular DFS, where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real-time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done up until the final whistle.
Each player share is paid out at the end of the games based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. For more information, check out the Jock MKT website.
Jock MKT NFL Picks for Week 6 Thursday Night Football
Jalen Hurts — QB — Philadelphia Eagles
The matchup is right for Jalen Hurts from a DFS perspective, as the Buccaneers give up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks per game. Without Lavonte David and Antoine Winfield Jr., along with their cornerback issues, this defense looks like an even better matchup tonight.
Hurts isn’t an elite passer, but that’s what makes him an intriguing fantasy option tonight. Is the Buccaneers secondary bad enough where it makes Hurts look even better than he is? If so, Hurts has massive upside, as he is also averaging 8.72 fantasy points on the ground this season before considering fumbles.
Jock MKT ranks Hurts second on this slate, which would pay out $20 per share. Awesemo projects Hurts to be the top overall scorer in the game, which would pay $25 per share. The tool also gives him a projected value of $19.26.
Antonio Brown — WR — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Deciding between the Buccaneer pass catchers is never an easy choice. They all have the upside to go off or not do much due to their individual talent and the talent surrounding them. Because of this, going with the cheapest option brings the potential for the largest payoff.
Antonio Brown only has a 13.2% target share, which trails Mike Evans (20.5%) and Chris Godwin (18.7%). However, his targeted air yards per game (102.5) is high, and he has nearly an identical average depth per target as Evans, which shows he only needs one play to pay off. Brown also gets weaker coverage a lot of the time, which is why he has capitalized on his targets much better than his teammates.
Jock MKT ranks Brown seventh tonight, which is the fifth-highest player for Tampa. Awesemo projects Brown No. 5, and there clearly is upside for him to finish even higher than that.
Quez Watkins — WR — Philadelphia Eagles
If Hurts is able to pass a little bit, it means good things for receivers like Quez Watkins. The Buccaneers are allowing the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season and only 0.1 points less than the worst defense in this category. Clearly the matchup provides plenty of upside for Watkins.
The status of tight end Dallas Goedert is a mystery. He is on the COVID list, though he could be removed. Still, if he is removed, will he play his full share of snaps? Watkins has higher upside with him out, as Goedert has an 11.1% target share this season. With Watkins being the receiving option most overlooked tonight, he naturally has a great deal of potential value.
Jock MKT ranks Watkins 14th on this slate. However, Awesemo projects Watkins to finish as the ninth-highest scorer, which would pay out $5 per share. The payout difference between ninth and 14th place is $3.50.
