In this column, we will review the basics of Jock MKT, including how it differs from making regular DFS picks and how it aligns with the fantasy football games you already know. Below are three of the best Jock MKT NFL picks for the Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals Week 8 Thursday Night Football matchup, based on the expert NFL DFS projections from the No. 1 DFS player in the world, Alex Baker.
Jock MKT Starter Kit: NFL Picks | Packers vs. Cardinals
To begin, enter the NFL Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is underway. Leading up until kickoff on the slate’s first game, bid on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging up to $25. See potential injury news that could open an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the backup, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular DFS, where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real-time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done up until the final whistle.
Each player share is paid out at the end of the games based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. For more information, check out the Jock MKT website.
Jock MKT NFL Picks for Week 8 Thursday Night Football
Kyler Murray — QB — Arizona Cardinals
When looking at the players playing tonight, there is no doubt that Kyler Murray has the most upside, especially with Davante Adams likely out with COVID. While Murray has not run much this season, he may look at Taylor Heinicke’s 95 yards rushing against the Packers last week and try to do =better, which is fantasy gold. But aside from his legs, his receiving corps has the advantage against a Packers secondary that does not have Jaire Alexander. Jock MKT ranks Murray as the top overall player, as does Awesemo. However, Awesemo projects Murray for a value of $17.72, and the top overall scorer pays out $25 per share.
A.J. Dillon — RB — Green Bay Packers
With the Packers likely missing their top two wide receivers, a heavy dose of the rushing attack tonight makes sense. Looking at the matchup, the Cardinals surrender the second-most yards per carry in the NFL (5). This weakness is made worse by the loss of J.J. Watt and puts Aaron Jones in a great spot tonight. However, his price will be high. Instead, take Dillon, who will be involved no matter what and could steal a goal-line carry or two. Dillon has also shown great ability to be a receiver out of the backfield, raising his potential even more. Jock MKT ranks Dillon 15th on this slate, which would pay out $1 per share. Awesemo projects Dillon to finish 14th. but he has potential for a much higher ranking.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling — WR — Green Bay Packers
There are several value receivers to target on Green Bay, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling has the most potential. He is still listed on IR, but he traveled to Arizona and should be playing tonight. With the Packers running the ball early and often, this sets up perfectly for a couple of deep shots once the safeties are creeping too far forward. It only takes one connection to return a profit, and Valdes-Scantling has 100-yard, multi-touchdown upside in this spot.
* UPDATE 1:50 ET: While Marquez Valdes-Scantling traveled with the team to Arizona, reports are that he is not expected to play tonight. Watch reports.
