NFL DFS Picks: Week 6 DraftKings & FanDuel Optimal Lineup

Jonathan Taylor – Optimal Lineup Percentage Scores: DraftKings: 13.1%, FanDuel: 14.7%

Taylor is in a smash spot this week. Facing the Texans, the Colts present the third-highest implied team total on the slate at 27 points, and they are huge 10.5-point home favorites. Via PFF, Houston is the seventh worst graded rush defense in the league this season. They have given up the 10th-highest yards per rush (4.4) and seventh-most rushing yard to opposing backfields (562). Through the first five weeks, Taylor has handled 63.5% of Colts’ running back rushes, including 24 carries in the red zone, which is the most by any player in the NFL this season. Also, the 22-year-old ranks fifth among running backs in DraftKings points per snap, and while his route rate is modest (37%), Taylor has caught 87.5% of the balls thrown his direction.

Going against this weak Texans’ defense, Taylor total scrimmage yard O/U is set at 100.5 yards and he is a -185 ML favorite to score a touchdown on BetMGM. Since joining the NFL last season, Taylor has provided 21.2 DraftKings points per game when a home favorite, and he is simply too cheap for his upside this week.

Terry McLaurin – Optimal Lineup Percentage Scores: DraftKings: 14.9%, FanDuel: 14.8%

McLaurin has handled a massive role this season and finds himself in a near perfect situation Sunday against the Chiefs. This contest’s total is the highest on the slate at 54.5 points, and the Washington Football Team carries a 23.75-point implied team total. They are also seven-point underdogs, setting up a very pass centric gameplan for Washington. This season, McLaurin ranks fifth in the league in target share (30.6%) with a 97% route rate. He also ranks third in targets greater than 20 yards (11), sixth in air yards (588) and leads his team with five end zone targets. The Chiefs have been atrocious on defense, yielding the third-highest yards per attempt (8.9), resulting in them being the worst graded defense on PFF. On top of this gorgeous matchup, this is the largest game total McLaurin has ever competed in. Additionally, when Washington has boasted an implied team total of at least 20 points, the receiver has been great with 19 DraftKings points per game.

Via Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool, McLaurin owns a top-five optimal lineup score among receivers on both DraftKings and FanDuel this week, making him a tremendous bring back option for Chiefs’ stacks.

Update: McLaurin sat out Friday’s practice with a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable, but is expected to suit up.

Devontae Booker – Optimal Lineup Percentage Scores: DraftKings: 10.1%, FanDuel: 8.6%

After Saquon Barkley (out, ankle) exited last week’s loss to the Cowboys early, Booker took over as the Giants’ featured back. The 29-year-old rushed 16 times, including four carries in the red zone, while third-string back Elijah Penny only saw one touch. Furthermore, Booker handled a 71% route rate and garnered four targets, two of which came in the red zone, while playing 88% of the snaps. He scored the Giants’ only two touchdowns of the game, and this massive role sans Barkley simply isn’t reflected in Booker’s current price tags. This Sunday, the Giants meet a Rams’ defense that has given up the seventh-highest yards per rush (4.5). Plus, this contest’s total is the fifth-highest on the slate at 48.5 points, and this an up-tempo spot for the Giants, with the Rams ranking first in game script adjusted paced, per Awesemo’s Advanced Stats.

New York is a nine-point underdog, but Booker saw almost all of his volume last week when the Giants were trailing. His full-time role trumps the concerns about spread at his soft salary, and Booker is projected for less than 10% ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel, per Awesemo’s ownership projections.
