Using Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool, each player carries an optimal lineup percentage score, which is the probability that player will be in perfect lineup for that slate, based on Awesemo’s projections. Below are three of the players with the highest Week 8 DraftKings and FanDuel optimal lineup percentage scores of the week using the Boom Bust Tool. Check out all of the Awesemo expert tools and cheat sheets when making your NFL DFS picks this week.

NFL DFS Picks: Week 8 Optimal Lineup

Jalen Hurts – Optimal Lineup Rates: DraftKings: 17.4%, FanDuel: 17.9%

Hurts is a beautiful spot this Sunday against the Lions. No team in the NFL has yielded more yards per attempt than Detroit (8.9), and the Eagles have the seventh-highest implied team total on the slate (25.5). Philadelphia has been a pass-first offense this season, ranking fifth-to=last in script-adjusted run percentage, and Hurts has posted 7.1 yards per attempt and 10 touchdowns against four interceptions. Additionally, he has been active as a rusher, ranking second in quarterback carries (66). With this volume on the ground, Hurts leads all quarterbacks in touchdowns rushing with five. Since taking over as the Eagles’ starting quarterback last season, Hurts is generating 26.2 DraftKings points per game.

Thirty-plus DraftKings points are possible for him against the hopeless Lions, and Hurts has the highest optimal lineup score for a quarterback on DraftKings this week. If looking for someone to stack with Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are the best targets. Smith leads the Eagles in target share (23.1%), and the Lions have been very vulnerable against receivers, giving up the fourth-most yards to the position (1,346). With Zach Ertz traded to the Cardinals, Goedert saw elite usage in his first game as the Eagles’ primary tight end last week, running a route on 88% of Hurts’ dropbacks. Goedert has caught 78% of his targets this season and averages a strong 15.9 yards per reception. For both DraftKings and FanDuel, Goedert has the highest optimal lineup score among tight ends.

D’Andre Swift – Optimal Lineup Rates: DraftKings: 15.5%, FanDuel: 16%

For Eagles stacks, Swift is the perfect bring-back option. This season he is playing 70% of the snaps and handling a team-high 48% of the Lions’ carries, including 15 red-zone rushes. More importantly, Swift has seen a tremendous role as a receiver. He leads the league in routes run for running backs (198) and ranks second in target share at his position (20.2%). Swift has caught 84% of his targets and leads all running backs in receptions (42) and yards receiving (391). Combing this elite role as a receiver with his running workload makes Swift one of the best fantasy assets in the league this season. He has exceeded 20 DraftKings points in four of seven starts and only trails Derrick Henry in DraftKings points among all running backs.

Swift is clearly underpriced on both sites right now, and he should thrive in this beautiful matchup against the Eagles. This season Philadelphia has yielded the fifth-most receptions (49) and second-most yards rushing to running backs (820). Swift is a top-five running back on the slate in terms of optimal lineup score for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Chris Godwin – Optimal Lineup Rates: DraftKings: 15.4%, FanDuel: 11.7%

At only $6,400 on DraftKings, Godwin is a value that simply cannot be ignored. While the Buccaneers will be getting Rob Gronkowski back, Antonio Brown (back) is expected to miss his second straight game. With Brown out last week, Godwin led the Buccaneers in targets with 11, eight of which he caught for 111 yards and a touchdown. In the five full games Godwin has played without Brown since Tom Brady joined Tampa Bay, he has a 22% target share and generated 18.6 DraftKings points per game.

In addition to the expanded role, Godwin and the Buccaneers sport the third-highest implied team total on the slate (27.5 points) against the Saints, and this game’s total is the second largest (50.5 points). Godwin should be extremely busy in this high-scoring game and is arguably the best receiver value available on DraftKings this week.
