Why pay a 15% rake when you can pay next to nothing? FantasyDraft has monthly plans that charge you a flat fee that allow you to play up to a specific dollar level, rake free. So, if you were to go on their $100 per month plan, you’d get up to $25,000 in rake free entries that month. At a 15% rake, that would normally cost you $3,750. Easy decision.

Other differences:

Less top-heavy contents: Paying out a minimum of 25% of players in paid contests. Fewer top-heavy structures means less variance for GPP players and more chances to get a return on your investment.

Flexible Lineup Structure: More freedom to build, done using extra FLEX positions, and less specific positions.

Multi-Entry Capping: Leveling the playing field by limiting the number of lineups players can enter in contests.

Scoring: It’s the same as DraftKings. The only major difference between these sites is the salary cap. FantasyDraft is $100,000, which of course makes it easy to determine what percentage of your cap hit is taken up by a given player.

Rosters: There’s one less WR spot and one extra FLEX, allowing the player a little more creativity when building.

Quarterback

Jameis Winston: Grade: A, Value: A

It’s now or never for Famous Jameis. He gets the plushest of plush matchups, with a home matchup against the Giants and their god-awful secondary. Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker ranks dead last in the NFL this year with 5.33 yards per snap allowed and 11 receptions on 13 targets for 272 yards and 2 TDs through two weeks. Janoris Jenkins hasn’t been much better, allowing a 75% completion rate. Collectively, this Giants unit ranks 32nd in pass defense.

Winston is SUPER cheap on FantasyDraft at just $11,100. He’s $200 more than Jacoby Brissett and Kirk Cousins. The Bucs have the fourth-highest total on the slate, 1.75 points off the Kansas City Chiefs. For stacking purposes, you might want to get creative, pairing him up with Mike Evans, OJ Howard, or Breshad Perriman (questionable, bare minimum priced) in some combination with new go-to, Chris Godwin.

Here is what Adam Pfeifer had to say about Winston in his NFL Fantasy Matchups column:

“People may be afraid to play Jameis Winston here. And while I’m definitely nervous, it is very difficult for me to not use him. Winston looked awful in Week 1 and slightly less awful last week. However, he is so cheap ($5,400) and this matchup against the Giants is really good for him. Through two weeks of play, the Giants have been atrocious on defense, surrendering 3.15 points per drive, the third-most in the NFL. They also have not generated much of a pass rush, ranking dead last in PFF’s pass rush rating, sporting just 28 total pressures through two weeks.

That bodes extremely well for Winston, who has completed just 43.5 percent of his passes when under pressure so far this season, while throwing two interceptions and zero touchdowns. New York has been the worst coverage team in football through two weeks and have been responsible for the QB2 and QB7 in fantasy so far. If Winston can’t get it done here, then, well, I’m not sure he is going to get it done at all this season. But at just $5,400, I’m willing to find out.”

Wide Receiver

FantasyDraft is chalked full of A grade, A value wide receivers this week in Awesemo’s ranking. I’ve never seen this many double-A grades on a single slate. These receivers make great plays in both cash and GPPs, but be wary of loading too many into GPPs at the expense of correlating your lineups.

Keenan Allen: Grade: A, Value: A

The cheapest of the double-A grade WRs on FantasyDraft, Allen’s target share has been out of this world so far. He ranks second in the NFL with 25, one behind Michael Thomas and is first in Scott Barrett’s Expected Fantasy Points model. With Mike Williams banged up, and Hunter Henry out, those targets should continue to flow Allen’s way. On Sunday he gets a home matchup against the pass-funnel Houston Texans, who rank 24th in PFF’s coverage rate. At $13,300. Allen will run about half his snaps against Texans new slot CB Bradley Roby, who had a lowly 54.6 coverage grade from PFF last season.

Running Backs

Devonta Freeman: Grade: C, Value: B

I am going a bit off the radar with this one, because Devonta Freeman has been outright terrible this season. He is averaging 2.2 yards per carry on just 19 attempts through two games. Not great. On the plus side, he’s still the Falcons go-to back in the passing game and now he gets a matchup against the Colts, who led the league last season in targets allowed to backs with 148. Freeman’s snap share is hovering at just 55%, suggesting more of a time-share than we assumed heading into the season, but that’s mitigated by pace. He ranks 24th in total RB snaps through two weeks. Really though, this is a price play at $9,300. He’s priced as though he’s in a time-share, surrounded by players like Raheem Mostert, Frank Gore and Jaylen Samuels.

Tight End

Zach Ertz: Grades: A, Values: A

This is more of a ‘where else is the ball gonna go?’ play than anything. Both Alshon Jeffrey and DeSean Jackson are expected to miss this week, as well as Eagles back-up tight end Dallas Goedert. That is going to mean a lot of targets and snaps for Zach Ertz against the Lions, who are middle of the pack at allowing fantasy points to tight ends since the start of 2018. Ertz is quietly second in the NFL in tight end targets this season, just behind the Giants’ Evan Engram. His 59% catch rate has positive regression written all over it – in 2018, Ertz hauled in 75% of his passes.

Ertz is the second highest priced TE on the slate on FantasyDraft at $11,100, but the opportunity and target share are too good to pass up. He is one of two Double A grade TEs on FantasyDraft this week.
