MUST PLAY Week 14 NFL DFS Value Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups

It is always important to find value for DFS lineups. What is also important is finding value with a reasonable upside, especially for tournaments. This article digs into the cheap players in the Awesemo NFL DFS projections that have the best points-per-dollar ratings. Using those projections, here are the top Week 14 NFL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.

Best Low-Priced NFL DFS Value Picks for Week 14

FanDuel Value Quarterback: Taysom Hill — $7,700

While Hill may be a shaky real-life quarterback, his dual-threat ability makes him a solid fantasy option. Hill went 19-for-41 last week, throwing for four interceptions. He also scored 27 DraftKings points, largely due to his 101 yards rushing. That was against a fairly tough Cowboys defense – it should be much easier against the Jets this time around. He also gets running back Alvin Kamara back, which is a boost to Hill and the overall offense. Being able to check down to Kamara — and have some of those turn into big gains — makes life much easier for Hill. Hill leads all quarterbacks in Awesemo’s projections for value on both sites for Week 14.

DraftKings Value Quarterback: Cam Newton — $5,400

Hill leads Awesemo’s projections for value on DraftKings as well, but Newton is a close second. The setup is remarkably similar here. Both quarterbacks are far better fantasy assets than real-life players thanks to their contributions with their legs. Both also struggled throwing the ball last week but draw much easier matchups in Week 14.

For Newton, that comes by way of the Falcons. They currently rank 29th in DVOA against the pass. They have also allowed half of the opposing quarterbacks they have faced to score at least 26 DraftKings points on the season. Additionally, Newton should have a larger goal-line rushing role with Christian McCaffrey done for the year. While Hill is still the safer pick, Newton arguably has better upside. The receiving duo of Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore is better than anyone on the Saints, so Newton has the potential for a better day through the air than Hill.

FanDuel Value Running Back: Javonte Williams — $6,700

There is not a ton of low-priced value on FanDuel at running back this week, but Williams is a solid option. He had the backfield to himself in Week 13, and he rushed for over 100 yards on 23 carries while adding six receptions on nine targets. Melvin Gordon is trending towards playing this week, though, which muddles things a bit. Williams is unlikely to see a repeat of last week’s workload. However, he does have a great matchup against the Lions. Denver will be looking to pound the rock and should have success against the Lions’ 23rd-ranked run defense. As 9-point favorites, it is unlikely Denver will have to spend too much time throwing the ball in this one. The point is that this is one matchup where both Williams and Gordon can have a big day.

It is likely that Denver will limit Gordon’s reps in his first game back from multiple injuries even if he does play, which leads to Williams leading Awesemo’s projections for value in this one. That lead would increase if Gordon were to sit Week 14 out.

DraftKings Value Running Back: Saquon Barkley — $6,000

Barkley trails only Williams in value in Awesemo’s projections on DraftKings for Week 14. While he is not seeing the rushing role he once did during his glory days, he is more than making up for it in the pass game. He has 20 targets over the past three games since returning from injury while averaging 10 carries per game. The Giants are big underdogs in this one and dealing with injuries to most of their top receiving options. Combine that with backup quarterback Jake Fromm getting the nod, and there could be a ton of running back checkdowns. That is impactful on full-PPR DraftKings, making Barkley the preferred choice

FanDuel Value Wide Receiver: Cole Beasley — $5,900

Teams love to pass against the Buccaneers. Part of this is the Tampa defense — they fare far better against the run than the pass. Part of that is their offense — opponents are constantly playing catch up with them. The Bills have no problem playing that style either. They rank in the top five in the league in pass rate over expectation. All of that creates a perfect scenario for Beasley. His 77% catch rate is near the top of the league (among receivers), meaning he can feast on high volume. Even without doing much from a yardage or scoring standpoint, Beasley should have a solid day with eight or so targets. He is fifth in wide receiver value in Awesemo’s projections but first among players under $6,000.

DraftKings Value Wide Receiver: Joshua Palmer — $3,000

Both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are in the COVID protocols right now, with uncertainty about whether either will be available for Sunday’s game. Allen reportedly tested positive, while Williams was a close contact. Either missing would open up a spot for Palmer, who functioned as the team’s top receiver in the preseason with both Allen and Williams sitting out. Allen is more impactful to Palmer, though, who runs more of his routes from the slot (where Allen usually plays) than Jalen Guyton.

Of course, it would be ideal for Palmer if both were to miss, as he is still likely behind Guyton on the depth chart. Awesemo’s projections currently expect Allen to miss but Williams to play. That leaves Palmer as the third-best value play on the slate, behind only Williams and Moore, both of whom cost over $6,000 on DraftKings. If Allen is good to go, consider Beasley ($5,000) on DraftKings as well.
