NFL DFS Top Stacks for Week 1 on DraftKings + FanDuel

Seattle Seahawks

The highest total on the main slate, the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons project to score 49-point in Week 1. Both teams enter this match with questionable defense, but bookmakers currently give the edge to Seattle as 2.5-point, road favorites.

While stacks on either side of this game makes sense, Russell Wilson and his pass catchers find themselves in particularly tantalizing matchup. Both Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf displayed elite efficiency last year. Both receivers eclipsed 900 yards receiving and Seattle’s condensed passing attack.

In this spot, they find themselves matched up against a questionable Atlanta secondary. With Desmond Trufant now playing in Detroit, Atlanta looks likely to trot out Isaiah Oliver, rookie AJ Terrell and Darqueze Dennard at corner. Oliver in particular gave up 794 yards in coverage last year, while Terrell most recently allowed six catches, 162 yards and a pair of scores to Ja’Marr Chase in the College Football Playoff.

Affordable across platforms, stacking the Seattle passing attack makes sense in Week 1’s highest totaled game on the main slate.

Las Vegas Raiders

One of the sneakiest potential shootouts of the week, the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Carolina Panthers in a game totaled at 47.5-points. Both teams possess potential bottom-five defense, but bookmakers still give a three-point edge to the Raiders in this spot. With affordable options across the board, stacking the Raiders allows multiple studs to fit into lineups.

Dirt cheap across the various platforms, Derek Carr quietly completed 70.4-percent of his passes last year for 4,054 yards and 21 scores. While he only eclipsed 300 yards on one occasion, he passed 285 on five others. Despite his tendency to avoid risk, Carr’s matchup remains too much to overlook.

Completely revamping their secondary, Carolina looks likely to trot out Donte Jackson, fourth-round rookie Troy Pride, and Corn Edler as their starting corners. The Panthers benched Jackson at various points last year for inconsistent play. Elder only has 63 career snaps, but he allowed three catches for 63 yards and a pair of scores on four targets in his coverage.

First round draft pick, Henry Ruggs projects to play a full snap share after Tyrell Williams hit injured reserve earlier this offseason. With a 4.27 40-yard dash in his arsenal, Ruggs provides an elite stacking option with Derek Carr in Week 1.

New Orleans Saints

Another game with a relatively high total, the New Orleans Saints take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. Projected for 48-total points, the New Orleans Saints still find themselves favored by 3.5-points in this spot. Also playing at home, the Saints offer stack appeal in this spot.

Despite playing beyond age-40, Drew Brees remains as efficient as they come. Brees has completed at least 70-percent of his passes in each of his last four seasons. Having an elite receiver like Michael Thomas surely helps. With a 32-percent target share and a 40-percent air yards share, Thomas always remains a prime stacking option with Brees.

Looking at Week 1, Thomas draws a solid matchup against a questionable Tampa Bay secondary. Sean Bunting and Carlton Davis both allowed over 528 yards in their coverage last season, while Jamel Dean only played a part-time role with the defense.

While Thomas always remains a locked in stacking option with Brees, Emmanuel Sanders also provides an intriguing fit within this offense. With a potential shootout brewing in New Orleans, stacking this side of the ball offers GPP-winning upside.
