Saturday, Nov. 14

Nick Chubb, RB | Cleveland Browns (Knee): Chubb’s name was not on the team’s final injury report Friday, which indicates he will be active for his Week 10 matchup against the Texans. It’s worth noting that weather is expected to have an impact on this game. We should see the Browns activate Chubb from the injured reserve before Sunday. Chubb will be a top-10 running back option against a Texans defense that allows the third-most points to rushers. Update: Chubb will play in Week 10

Tevin Coleman, RB | San Francisco 49ers (Knee): Coleman will not play in Week 10. The 49ers have a Week 11 bye and should get Raheem Mostert (knee), Deebo Samuel (Hamstring) and Coleman back the following week. Jerick McKinnon will shoulder the workload for the 49ers on Sunday, and we can expect to see Jamycal Hasty mix in.

Mark Ingram, RB | Baltimore Ravens (Ankle): Ingram was a full participant at practice for the Ravens on Friday, and the team expects him to play Sunday. This news muddies the waters for the Ravens backfield. When healthy, Ingram is unquestionably the team’s lead running back. I’d expect to see Gus Edwards relieve Ingram and J.K. Dobbins to work into the mix.

Kenyan Drake, RB | Arizona Cardinals (Ankle): According to Kliff Kingsbury, the Cardinals “want to make sure (Drake) feels good pregame and can do what he does best.” The major issue with this situation is that this is an afternoon game and DFS players may not get news before the main slate locks. It’s also difficult for season-long fantasy players to navigate. If we get the news that Drake won’t play, Chase Edmonds automatically enters RB1 conversations. If Drake plays, he will carry RB3 status with slight upside. As it stands Drake is a game-time-decision.

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): The Seattle Seahawks are listing Carson as questionable ahead of his Week 10 match against the Rams. Carlos Hyde (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice on Friday for the Seahawks. Pete Carroll claims both backs have a chance to play. If Carson is able to play, he will be the team’s lead back. I’ll have more news as the situation develops. Update: Carson and Hyde have been ruled out for week 10. DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer will split snaps for the Seahawks.

Robert Tonyan, TE | Green Bay Packers (Ankle): Tonyan sustained an ankle injury during practice on Thursday that kept him sidelined for Friday’s practice as well. The Packers currently have Tonyan listed as questionable. It’s worth mentioning, though, that the Green Bay training staff have been very strict regarding injured players. If Tonyan is unable to suit up, Marcedes Lewis and Jace Sternberger would see extra snaps at the tight end position.

Matt Breida, RB | Miami Dolphins (Hamstring): Breida was able to practice on a limited basis through the week and is being listed as questionable for Week 10. DeAndre Washington is expected to be active for the Dolphins this week, which complicates things for the Miami running game. With Washington, Breida, Salvon Ahmed and Jordan Howard all potentially active on Sunday, there really is no telling in which direction the team will turn.

Friday, Nov. 13

David Montgomery, RB | Chicago Bears (Concussion): The Bears held Montgomery out of practice again on Thursday. He is still trying to work his way through the league’s concussion protocol. Montgomery now has three days to clear concussion protocol ahead of his Week 10 match against the Vikings. There have been rumblings that the Bears may activate Lamar Miller from the team’s practice squad if Montgomery cannot play. The Bears would likely take a committee approach between Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Ryan Nall in Week 10. Montgomery is doubtful at the moment.

Joe Mixon, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Foot): Mixon was a non-participant at practice Friday for the Bengals due to a nagging foot injury. It’s now beginning to look like the Bengals will deploy Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine Sunday when the Bengals face the Steelers. Bernard can be viewed as an RB2 in Week 10.

Devonta Freeman, RB New York Giants (Ankle): Freeman suffered a setback during practice on Thursday for the Giants and reaggravated his ankle injury. Wayne Gallman will see the lion’s share of work in the running game, and Alfred Morris should mix in. Gallman will carry RB3 status heading into Week 10.

Kenny Golladay, WR | Detroit Lions (Hip): The Lions held Golladay out of practice on Friday. Kenny is still dealing with a hip that has kept him sidelined the last couple of weeks. The Lions will now turn to Danny Amendola, Marvin Hall, and Marvin Jones in Week 10. Jones is the preferred option out of the bunch. However, Jones is no more than a touchdown-dependent WR3 against a Washington team that ranks No. 1 in passing DVOA.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): The Panthers have officially ruled McCaffrey out for Week 10. Mike Davis can safely be deployed across all formats.

T.J. Hockenson, TE | Detroit Lions ( Toe): Hockenson’s name popped up on the injury report for the Lions on Thursday as a DNP. This news alarmed fantasy owners. Still, I can actually report some good news on this situation. Hockenson practiced in full for the Lions on Friday. The Lions expect Hockenson to suit up on Sunday, barring any setbacks ahead of Sunday.

Laviska Shenault, WR | Jacksonville Jaguars (Hamstring): Shenault’s status heading into Week 10 is doubtful. He did practice earlier in the week, but it seems his ailing hamstring still isn’t at 100% as of yet. Chris Conley would be the next man up in this situation once the Jaguars officially rule Shenault out.

Jerry Jeudy, WR | Denver Broncos (Shoulder): Jeudy was a non-participant at practice on Wednesday and limited on Thursday, which raised a bit of speculation regarding his Week 10 availability. According to head coach Vic Fangio, Jeudy is in no jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game against the Raiders. Heading into Week 10, Jeudy is a WR2 with upside.

Mark Ingram, RB | Baltimore Ravens (Ankle): Ingram returned to practice for the Ravens on Friday. It’s the first time that Ingram has been able to practice with the team in two weeks. Ingram’s return would be direct a hit to Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins in terms of production. These three running backs are hazardous Flex options heading into Week 10.

Thursday, Nov. 12

Matt Breida, RB | Miami Dolphins (Hamstring): Breida is dealing with a hamstring injury and was a limited participant during Dolphins practice Wednesday. This puts Breida on track to play in Week 10. The Dolphins took a committee approach in Week 9 during Breida’s absence. Jordan Howard seems to be more of a goal-line back, while Breida appears to be more of the three-down workhorse. Breida will be considered an RB2 heading into Week 10.

Tevin Coleman, RB | San Francisco 49ers (Knee): Coleman was a non-participant at practice for the 49ers on Wednesday. The 49ers activated Coleman off the team’s injured reserve list in Week 8 when the 49ers faced the Packers. It was a short outing for Coleman. He was forced to exit the match against Green Bay due to a knee injury sustained during the first quarter. Coleman’s absence at practice puts his Week 10 availability in doubt. Jerick McKinnon and Jamycal Hasty will split the workload Sunday if Coleman cannot play.

Jack Doyle, TE | Indianapolis Colts (Concussion): Doyle has been ruled out for Week 10. Mo Alie-Cox and Trey Burton should see expanded roles in Doyle’s absence.

Deebo Samuel, WR | San Francisco 49ers (Hamstring): Samuel has been dealing with a hamstring injury for the better part of two weeks now. Samuel was a non-participant at practice for the 49ers on Wednesday, which isn’t a good sign. Before Friday, logging a limited practice session would have Samuel on the right side of things in terms of playing availability heading into Week 10. The 49ers activated Brandon Aiyuk from the reserve/COVID list and would see an uptick in target volume if Deebo sits.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that McCaffrey has a likely chance to return in Week 11. It appears that McCaffrey went shopping for a second opinion in regards to his current shoulder injury, and this news falls directly in line with Rapoport’s report from earlier in the week, which stated that McCaffrey’s availability was in doubt. The Panthers will turn to Mike Davis to shoulder the workload in Week 10, and he can be viewed as an RB2/Flex play.

Cooper Kupp, WR | Los Angeles Rams (Wrist/Oblique): Reports came out late Wednesday evening that Kupp was limited at Rams practice. There really isn’t any further news in this situation at the moment. We will presume Kupp will play unless we hear otherwise. I’ll be monitoring this situation closely. We should hear something later in the day when the Rams release their Thursday injury report.

Darrell Henderson, RB | Los Angeles Rams (Quad): Henderson sustained a quad injury during Week 8. The Rams are coming off a Week 9 bye, giving Henderson time to rest ahead of his Week 10 match against the Seahawks. The Rams training staff held Henderson out of practice on Wednesday, likely for maintenance reasons. Head coach Sean McVay went on record and said that “his No. 1 back will be fine.” If Henderson sits, Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown would see prominent roles in the Rams running game. My personal lean if Henderson sits would be Brown. However, McVay has been known to use the hot-hand approach.

Wednesday, Nov. 11

Raheem Mostert, RB | San Francisco 49ers (Ankle): According to coach Kyle Shanahan, Mostert (ankle) has a chance to play in Week 10. It is worth mentioning that the 49ers have a Week 11 bye, so there’s also a chance the team could rest Mostert through the bye. This is a situation we will need to monitor throughout the week. Update: Mostert has been ruled out for Week 10. Expect to see McKinnon and Hasty split work in the 49er backfield.

Justin Jackson, RB | Los Angeles Chargers (Knee): Jackson’s day ended rather quickly in Week 9 as he exited the game on the first play of the first quarter with a knee injury. Kalen Ballage filled in during Jackson’s absence. Ballage rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts. Kalen was also on the field for 39.2% of snaps for the Chargers. Ballage is an RB2 with upside should Jackson be unable to play in Week 10. Update: Jackson was not seen at practice for the Chargers Wednesday.

Kenyan Drake, RB | Arizona Cardinals (Ankle): Drake resumed practicing for the Cardinals on Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day. The Cardinals have been without Drake since he sustained an ankle injury in Week 7. Being able to practice Wednesday puts Drake on the right side of the tracks regarding his Week 10 availability. If Drake were to encounter any setbacks during the week, Chase Edmonds would become Arizona’s bell cow.

Nick Chubb, RB | Cleveland Browns (knee): Chubb returned to practice for the Browns for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 4 on Wednesday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski claims Chubb looks good. If given the clearance to play Sunday, Chubb would resume his role in the team’s offense and a timeshare with fellow running back Kareem Hunt.

Mark Ingram, RB | Baltimore Ravens (Ankle): Ingram suffered an ankle injury during Week 6 that has kept him sidelined for the last couple of games. The Ravens are returning from a Week 9 bye, and Ingram should be fully rested. John Harbaugh stated that Ingram could play Sunday night when the Ravens face the Patriots. If Ingram does play Sunday, it only complicates what’s already a messy running back situation from a DFS or season-long perspective. Ingram will carry RB2 status into Week 10.

N’Keal Harry, WR | New England Patriots (Concussion): Harry returns to practice for the Patriots Wednesday but is still working his way through the league’s concussion protocol. The Patriots are expecting to have Harry available for Sunday’s match against the Ravens. Newly acquired wideout Isaiah Ford will also be available to play on Sunday for the Patriots.

Joe Mixon, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Foot): Mixon missed his last couple of contests dealing with a foot injury sustained during Week 6. It’s not the news that Joe Mixon season-long managers want to hear. Unless Mixon can get a full practice in on Friday, it looks like we could see another week off Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine.

Miles Sanders, RB | Philadelphia Eagles (Knee): Sanders was a full participant during the Eagles’ Wednesday practice. This news falls directly in line with earlier reports that Sanders would be ready to play after Week 9. Sanders will be viewed as an RB1 heading into a divisional matchup against the New York Giants.

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is uncertain about Carson’s Week 10 status.  Seahawks.com reports Carson showed “encouraging progress” at practice for Seattle. Carson resumed running at practice, which is an excellent sign and bodes well for his Week 10 availability. This is also a situation that I will need to monitor closely as we get closer to Friday. Be sure to check back. Update: Reports are coming in late Wednesday evening that Carson did not practice on Wednesday.

Alshon Jeffery, WR | Philadelphia Eagles (Foot): Jeffery (foot) was a limited participant during the Eagles practice on Wednesday. Philadelphia expects Alshon to make his season debut in Week 10 when the Eagles face their divisional foes, the Giants. Jeffery will most likely be on a snap count Sunday. Alshon’s return is a slight boost to the Eagles receiving corps. Jeffery will be seen as a low-end WR4 when the Eagles face New York.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR | Pittsburgh Steelers (Knee): Smith-Schuster was a non-participant at practice for the Steelers on Wednesday. This has actually been the norm for Smith-Schuster since the beginning of April. His absence is likely nothing more than just a maintenance day, and he should be in no danger of missing Week 10.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

Nick Chubb, RB | Cleveland Browns (Knee): Chubb will be returning to practice this week for the Browns. Nick has been out since going down in Week 4 due to an MCL sprain. How Chubb performs during practice this week will be the determining factor in Nick’s availability for Week 10. As it stands, the team seems hopeful that there won’t be any setbacks.

David Montgomery, RB | Chicago Bears (Concussion): David sustained a concussion during his Week 9 matchup against the Titans, exiting in the fourth quarter. It was another disappointing day for Montgomery, who ran for a mere 40 yards on 14 attempts, averaging a dismal 2.1 yards per carry. Montgomery will now enter the league’s concussion protocol and his Week 10 status in jeopardy. There are rumblings that Lamar Miller could get called up from the team’s practice squad. I’ll pay close attention to this bit of new and update the article as this story unfolds.

David Johnson, RB | Houston Texans (Concussion): Johnson sustained a concussion during his Week 9 contest against the Jaguars, causing him to exit the game. Duke Johnson became the team’s bell-cow back in David’s absence and found pay dirt in Week 9 but only ran for 41 yards on 14 attempts. Duke will be considered an RB3 if David can’t clear concussion protocol.

Albert Okwuegbunam, TE | Denver Broncos (Knee): The list of inactive tight ends is growing rather long for the Broncos. Okwuegbunam (knee) now joins Jake Butt, Austin Fort, and Andrew Beckon on the injured reserve list. Fant and Nick Vannett will see more playing time due to Okwuegbunam’s absence. They’re also the only active tight ends on the Broncos roster at the moment.

Kyle Allen, QB | Washington Football Team (Ankle): Allen sustained a season-ending ankle injury in Week 9. Alex Smith took over quarterback responsibilities for Washington once Allen left the game. Smith managed to complete 24 of 32 passes for 325 yards and a touchdown. However, he also threw three interceptions against the Giants. Washington is expected to activate rookie Dwayne Haskins as a backup to Smith for Week 10. Smith could be a serviceable back up for those who may be in dire need of a quarterback in season-long leagues, and Smith is also worth a look as a deep punt via DFS platforms.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning that McCaffrey’s status for Week 10 was “very much in doubt” due to a shoulder injury McCaffrey sustained during Week 9. That news seems somewhat contradictory to reports that came out of Panthers camp Monday afternoon. Coach Matt Rhule is stating that McCaffrey will be day-to-day. The Panthers are waiting for MRI results regarding McCaffrey’s shoulder, which would give more clarity for McCaffrey’s Week 10 availability. Mike Davis would step in for the Panthers and play a prominent role in the teams running game if McCaffrey cannot play.
