NFL DFS Top Stacks for Week 17 on DraftKings + FanDuel

Top Stack: Buffalo Bills

With Kansas City projected to rest their starters in Week 17, the Bills shoot to the top of the Awesemo Top Stacks tool. However, they are in a curious situation as well. The Bills are locked in place as far as playoff seeding as long as Pittsburgh loses. Already resting Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh enters Week 17 as 8.5-point underdogs to Cleveland. With the potential to rest their starters at some point in the second half, Buffalo presents the ultimate risk/reward situation in Week 17.

Evidenced by last week’s demolition of the Patriots, Buffalo stacks still provide one of the highest ceilings. All of this upside flows through Josh Allen. Allen completes 69.1% of his passes for 7.9 yards per attempt. Both marks rank top six. Allen has also passed for 300 yards in eight games this season. Also providing dual-threat ability, Allen is one of the top quarterbacks on the Week 17 main slate.

As for stacking options, the Bills will be a little bit thin behind Stefon Diggs. Cole Beasley suffered a lower-body injury and will miss this contest in preparation for the playoffs. However, the Bills activated John Brown from the COVID-19 reserve list, adding depth. Diggs already leads the NFL in most major receiving categories with his 29.9% target share. Brown also brings a dynamic speed element and a 17.7% target share in healthy games this season. Without Beasley, Gabriel Davis should be a full-time starter after seeing at least four targets in five straight games.

Despite the competitiveness of this game, the Bills still are a top stacking option on the Week 17 DFS main slate.

NFL DFS Top Stack: Green Bay Packers

Unlike other Week 17 contest, this tilt between Green Bay and Chicago holds immense playoff implications. With a win Green Bay secures the top seed in the NFL. On the other side, Chicago can also secure a playoff berth with an upset over Green Bay. As it stands, the Packers are 4.5-point road favorites in a game totaled at 50.5 points. Already beating the Bears 41-25 this season, Packers stacks present enough upside for tournaments in Week 17.

Experiencing a career resurgence, Aaron Rodgers is completing 70.3% of his passes for 8.1 yards per attempt. These both rank in the top three. While hyper-efficient, Rodgers actually only has five 300-yard passing games this season. He hasn’t eclipsed this mark since Week 11, but he has also thrown only one interception and 15 touchdowns in that span. Last time Rodgers faced Chicago, he completed 21 of 29 passes for 211 yards and four touchdowns. With top corners Jaylon Johnson and Buster Skrine already ruled out for Chicago, Rodgers stands out as a strong option this week.

As for stacking receivers, Davante Adams holds the crown for top receiver in 2020. Adams holds an absurd 34.6 target share with 39.5% of the Packers’ air yards. Adams has at least nine targets in every healthy game this season, making him nearly bust-proof. Behind Adams, the Packers have increasingly relied on a rotation comprised of Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown. With none receiving significant target volume in recent weeks, all are dart throws. Tight end Robert Tonyan may actually present the second-best stacking option. While his volume isn’t consistent, he has a 12% target share this season and correlates at the toughest roster position in DFS.

With Green Bay playing for home field advantage, Rodgers and company make sense as one of Awesemo’s top Week 17 DFS stacks.

NFL DFS Value Stack: Atlanta Falcons

While Atlanta has already been eliminated from the playoff race, multiple players and coaches continue to play for their jobs in Week 17. Atlanta enters the week as a 7-point underdogs to the Buccaneers. After meeting just two weeks ago, this game brings an attractive 50.5-point total. With Atlanta skill position player priced affordably across DFS platforms, stacking the Falcons presents solid upside on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Unlike the quarterbacks mentioned above, Matt Ryan completes just 64.9% of his passes for 7.4 yards per attempt. However, Ryan also ranks third overall in pass attempts (582) because of Atlanta’s constant negative game script. On the year Ryan has five 300-yard passing performances, including a 356-yard, three-touchdown outing against Tampa Bay two weeks ago.

As for pass catchers, Calvin Ridley stands out as the clear top wide receiver for this team. Julio Jones has already been ruled out for Week 17, and Ridley has received at least nine targets in the last three games Jones missed. Behind Ridley, Russell Gage has played an increased role for the Falcons. Gage has at least five targets in each of his last seven games and at least seven in three of his last four games. Hayden Hurst also looks viable at a desolate tight end position. Hurst has five targets in back-to-back games and scored last time out against the Buccaneers.

For those looking at cheap stacks, Atlanta allows multiple studs and still provides enough upside to finish as the top stack on the Week 17 DFS main slate.
