Top Stacks: Week 8 NFL DFS Picks for DraftKings + FanDuel Based on Awesemo’s Premium Tool

NFL Week 8 has finally arrived and it’s time to talk strategy. Stacking a quarterback with one of more of his pass catchers provides a solid way to add upside to a DFS lineup. With Week 8 offering a full slate of games, here are a few stacks worth considering on the DFS main slate. Let’s take a look at some top stacks from Week 8 for NFL DFS lineups on DraftKings + FanDuel.

NFL DFS Top Stacks for Week 8 on DraftKings + FanDuel

Top Stack: Kansas City Chiefs

An interesting stacking consideration on the Week 8 DraftKings and FanDuel main slate, the Kansas City Chiefs find themselves favored by 19.5 points against the New York Jets. With the game totaled at 49 points, the Chiefs enter the week with the highest implied team total. While the Chiefs may choose to ride the run game while playing from ahead, the offense still likely has some part of the projected blowout win that bookmakers currently project.

Super Bowl-winning Mahomes has actually played up-and-down from a fantasy perspective this year. He has eclipsed 300-yards passing in three of seven games, while completing 65.7% of his passes (21st) for 7.8 yards per attempt (13th). While these numbers remain fine, paying a premium for Mahomes requires an elite scores that sub-300 yard games just don’t provide.

With that said, the Jets currently allow 7.6 yards per pass attempt (seventh-most) and Mahomes possesses a variety of weapons at his disposal. Last week, Tyreek Hill had the big game with six catches and a score. Over the course of the season, Travis Kelce holds a team-best 23.8% target share. With Kelce playing a premium position, prioritizing him makes some sense. However, both provide the requisite upside to enter the top stacks conversation ahead of Week 8 on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Top Stack: Green Bay Packers

Another week appearing in the top stacks tool, Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams continue to print money for DFS owners. This week, the Packers face the Minnesota Vikings as six-point home favorites. With a 49.5-point total and a weak Minnesota secondary on the other side, Green Bay stacks look viable again in Week 8.

Having somewhat of a career resurgence, Aaron Rodgers currently averages 8.0 yards per pass attempt (11th), while completing 65.9% of his passes (19th). Luckily, the Vikings currently allow 8.2 yards per pass attempt (third-worst), potentially elevating Rodgers in this spot. Further improving the matchup for Rodgers, Minnesota will play without their top two corners in Holton High and Mike Hughes this weekend.

Looking at stacking options, Davante Adams stands out as a premier play on the slate. Adams target share exceeds 40% in healthy games, and enters this week fresh off a 13-catch, 196-yard, two-score affair. Outside of Adams, Allen Lazard began practicing this week, but he has yet to be activated off injured reserve. This leaves Marquez Valdes-Scantling as the secondary option behind Adams. MVS currently ranks 15th in the NFL in overall air yards. However, he has yet to realize many with just 242 receiving yards this season.

With expensive options and potential leverage spots, Green Bay provides an avenue to Week 8’s top stack on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Value NFL DFS Stack: San Francisco 49ers

For those looking at value stacks, DraftKings and FanDuel under-priced the San Francisco 49ers in a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. As it stands, the 49ers enter this tilt as 2.5-point underdogs in a game totaled at 53.5-points. With multiple studs available, the 49ers provide a path to a balanced roster in Week 8.

Looking at Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers’ signal caller currently averages 8.2 yards per pass attempt (eighth), while completing 66.9% of his passes (15th). The Seahawks currently allow 7.7 yards per pass attempt (fifth-worst) often leading to shootout environments. Just last week, Garoppolo completed 80% of his passes for 277 yards against the New England Patriots.

Looking to this week, even stacks with Garoppolo remain affordable. George Kittle comes in as the top option at the most expensive price point. However, he has seen at least seven targets in every game since he returned from injury. Aside from Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk looks likely to receive an elevated opportunity share after Deebo Samuel went down with injury. With Samuel missing time last week, Aiyuk turned seven targets into six catches for 115 receiving yards.

While the 49ers project to carry higher ownership, their cost provides other avenues to create unique roster constructions. Because of their prices and upside, the 49ers remain a potential top stacking option on DraftKings and FanDuel in Week 8.
