Week 15 NFL Survivor Pool Picks + Strategy | Ravens or Rams?

Week 15 of the NFL Season is here and in Survivor leagues this means we are at the very end of most pools. Some may be wrapped up already, and for anyone alive there at most is only a fraction of entries still in it this late in the season. The picking gets incredibly difficult as so many teams are unavailable, and it’s now just trying to find some spots to exploit or some teams that are playing the bottom of the barrel late in the year. The Week 15 teams are looking at the closest for NFL Survivor picks are the Los Angeles Rams and the Baltimore Ravens.

What is a Survivor Pool?

There are several variations of the Survivor Pool format, but the most basic and common one is each week everyone in the pool has to select one team to win a game straight up, not against the spread. If the team wins, you survive the week and move on, and if the team you pick ties or loses, you are eliminated from the pool. The twist is that you can only use any team once, so anyone you pick is no longer available for weeks in the future, making it increasingly difficult as the season goes on. The pool ends when there is one player left, and usually that player will take home a big pay day depending on the pool and the structure.

Week 14 NFL Survivor Picks Recap

Seahawks

A massive 55% of teams went to Seattle last week in the prime spot at home against the hopeless Jets. Things went according to plan, as Seattle crushed the winless Jets 40-3. The only question each week is if you have the team playing the Jets available since picking against them has worked every week of the season.

Titans

The other team to pick on has been the Jaguars, and outside of Week 1 they have been a fantastic team to fade each week. Last week Tennessee was 31% owned across Yahoo leagues, and they got the job done with a 31-10 win. It’s a race to the bottom for the Jaguars, so they will continue to be a team to exploit as the season closes. With a matchup against the Ravens this week, we will be circling back to Jacksonville later in this article.

Saints

They certainly weren’t in the league of the Titans or Seahawks given the difference in opponent, but the Saints still were 10% owned last week. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the job done with Jalen Hurts able to rush for 100 yards and pull a major upset. The Saints most likely were not people’s first choice, but this late in the season sometimes you only have a few reasonable spots available.

Week 15 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Ravens

Baltimore is still in the thick of the playoff race, and they cannot afford to lose games down the stretch. A home matchup with Jacksonville is exactly what they need, and Vegas has the Ravens as 13.5-point favorites in this one. They should dominate on the ground against the Jaguars’ front seven, and with this being a must-win it is hard to think they will slip up here. Like most games, the biggest question is if you still have Baltimore available this late in the year. If you do, fire them up with confidence and let other people go to tougher matchups.

Rams

This figures to be the other game that will garner major ownership in Survivor. The Rams are comically big favorites of 16.5 against the winless Jets. Coming off a 37-point loss last week and getting a Rams team who needs to keep pace in the NFC West doesn’t feel like the recipe for the Jets to finally win a game. We have the same mindset as Baltimore in the sense that if you have the Rams available, just play them.

Titans

There are two obvious spots to attack on this slate, but if you don’t have those teams available, you will have to go elsewhere. The Titans are the spot I would go to next, as they draw a home matchup against the Lions and are 10.5-point favorites. Furthermore, Matthew Stafford is injured and could miss the game, which makes this Lions offense that much worse in this spot. The Titans are tied atop the AFC South and have to win games like this in order to keep pace with Indianapolis. Expect a heavy dose of Derrick Henry and for this defense to have the advantage given the Lions’ issues moving the ball.

My Week 15 NFL Survivor Pool Pick: Ravens

Teams I’ve already used: Colts (L), Buccaneers (W), Eagles (T), Rams (W), Cowboys (W), Dolphins (W), Chargers (W), Chiefs (W), Steelers (W), Packers (W), Vikings (L), Browns (W), Raiders (W), Seahawks (W)

I am lucky to have the Ravens still available, so that is where I will be going. Not only do they get the Jaguars, but they are battling for their playoff lives late in the year. Baltimore is first in the league in rushing yards per attempt at 5.3 and the Jaguars allow the 26th-most yards per attempt, so I expect that to be the Ravens’ focal point. With one team trying to get the No. 1 pick and the other trying to secure a playoff bid, it is an obvious spot to go to in one of the final weeks for NFL Survivor pools.
