Week 16 is coming up as the season winds down quickly, and there are NFL DFS picks to be made and daily fantasy football advice to be given for DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo contests. Greg Ehrenberg breaks down some of the key news in his Slant and Go article for your Week 16 DFS lineups on Sunday.

Daily Fantasy Football: Week 16 DraftKings + FanDuel NFL DFS Picks

Tyreek Hill Misses Practice

The Chiefs are a team we want to target this week. Patrick Mahomes & Co. crush every week and once again have the best odds of being the top team stack, according to our Top Stacks Tool. This week more so than usual, since Kansas City has a 38.4% chance to finish the slate as the top stack. With Hill missing practice on Wednesday, there is a chance he doesn’t play this weekend. The Chiefs are taking the top spot in the AFC and don’t have a need to push Hill to play. If he’s out, Travis Kelce becomes the top tight end by a mile and Mecole Hardman would become a strong value after tying a career-high with nine targets last week.

Jalen Hurts, Fantasy Stud

For the second straight week, Hurts dominated in DFS. In his second career start, Hurts looked even better than he did in his first outing. It is really promising to see him add passing numbers to his gaudy rushing stats. The numbers on the ground will always exist for Hurts and now it looks like we can count on passing stats. Against the Cardinals, Hurt put up over 300 passing yards and had three touchdowns to no interceptions. This week, he draws his easiest matchup yet against the Cowboys porous defense. Even with an increase in salary, Hurts will end up as one of my most-rostered quarterbacks this weekend.

Give Us More Tony Pollard

Pollard saved my last daily fantasy football weekend. In his first start of the season, he scored more fantasy points than Ezekiel Elliott scored in any of his games this season. He did everything for Dallas, rushing for 5.8 yards per carry and added value in the passing game. Pollard was targeted nine times and caught six of the passes for 63 yards. Zeke is questionable to play this weekend and I am loading up on Pollard against if Elliott is out. The Pollard situation also showed an important lesson with ownership. Pollard projected as a top value play but didn’t draw much ownership because of how late the Elliott news came out. There is value in reacting to Sunday morning news as most of the field doesn’t want to update lineups that late.

Star Wide Receivers Joining Tyreek Hill On The Injury Report

It looks like we could get a lot of value at wideout this week. In addition to Hill, Julio Jones, Terry McLaurin, Keenan Allen and Tyler Boyd missed practice on Wednesday. All of them are questionable to play this week. This could create for odd lineup builds. We could potentially see a ton of value at wide receiver without a running back to pay up for. Sunday’s slate only has 10 games and there isn’t a single running back priced over $8,000 on DraftKings. FanDuel priced Nick Chubb up to $9,000 but no other RB is over $8k.

With value at wide receiver, I think we could see a ton of people flock to roster Chubb, David Montgomery and Austin Ekeler. For cash games, this makes the most sense. In GPP, I think there is a lot of value to making different builds by going cheap at running back and spending up at wide receiver. Paying up for upside players like Calvin Ridley and D.K. Metcalf, who don’t project for much ownership is a sensible way to make lineups with high ceilings that are way different from what the field is doing.
