NFL Odds + NFL Picks: Monday Night Football Best Bets & Props

1. Stefon Diggs OVER 81.5 Receiving Yards

Tonight’s Monday Night Football opening act pins an established Kansas City offense led by MVP Patrick Mahomes against the Buffalo Bills, who have an emerging superstar quarterback of their own in Josh Allen. Both teams are coming off embarrassing Week 5 losses and will look to right their respective ships in a game featuring a massive 57.5 total. There’s a number of reasons to be bullish on these offenses, but that’s been accurately reflected in a number of the player props on the market today.

Diggs, however, is another story. His 81.5 receiving yards prop is set far too low when compared to the production we’ve seen from him so far this season. Through five weeks, the offseason acquisition from Minnesota has four outings of at least 86 yards while averaging a shade over 10 targets and 100 yards per game. Diggs’ season-high 16 targets in Week 5 is perhaps a little overblown, as the Bills were missing speedster John Brown on the outside, who is listed questionable but expected to give it a go tonight.

The last factor of the equation for this prop is actually the Bills’ porous defense through five games. Most teams have major problems stopping the Kansas City attack already, so tonight bodes well for the likes of Diggs’ box score if the Bills are in catch-up mode. In fact, in game scripts where the Bills have trailed in the second half by two scores or more (Miami Week 2, Tennessee Week 5), Diggs has averaged a ridiculous 14.5 targets and 129.5 receiving yards. That blows by this 81.5 number, and you’re actually getting plus-money to bet it at BetMGM (+105). Take advantage and fire a unit over there on this NFL prop tonight.

2. Ezekiel Elliott OVER 88.5 Rushing Yards

As if Bills – Chiefs won’t be enough offensive fun for one day, the nightcap between the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys features a healthy 55-point total of its own. The Andy Dalton era begins tonight in Dallas — however brief it may be — and the weaponry that surrounds him is as elite as they come.

That starts with Elliott, the Cowboys’ bell cow back, who will be asked to do even more with Dak Prescott on the shelf. Elliott is averaging 17.8 carries per game through five weeks, and Arizona is coughing up nearly 4.5 yards per carry to opposing running backs on the season. By my math, that means 20 touches for Elliott at that rate would be 90 yards. Plus, there’s upside for even more work than that if offensive coordinator Kellen Moore looks to ease the burden on Dalton early.

It’s true that Elliott has yet to eclipse the 100-yard mark in a game this season, but I see him blowing past that mark tonight in a projected close game. I love the over on this NFL prop for a unit tonight.
