Yahoo NFL Picks: Rankings & Values for Optimal Week 14 DFS Lineups

Top Graded QB: Josh Allen $41 | Grades: A, Values: C

Josh Allen has pushed for the top spot in the Awesemo projections on many slates this year and comes in first again in Week 14. Despite Allen being one of the premier run/pass combos in the league at his position, he is not getting much love this week at under 5% projected rostership. The low sentiment after last week’s blizzard loss to New England should work in people’s favor on Yahoo, where Allen is the highest-priced quarterback and will be lower rostered in large fields. The Buccaneers have allowed opposing quarterbacks to go for 300-plus yards and two-plus touchdowns four times already this year and make for a better than average opponent.

Projected NFL DFS Rostership: 4.6%

Top Value QB: Taysom Hill $28 | Grades: A, Values: A

The Saints have committed to the Taysom Hill experiment for at least one more week, and that is good news for DFS players. Hill’s run first style racks up the fantasy points quickly, and his 11 carries from last week will likely be replicated or even exceeded in Week 14 after he threw four interceptions in his last game. He also features a team terrible at stopping the run in the New York Jets, who have allowed 4.5 yards per carry this year, seventh worst in the league. Hill is second in the quarterback projections this week, making him a screaming value on Yahoo at under $30.

Top Graded RB: Austin Ekeler $36 | Grades: A, Values: C

The Chargers will be down at least Keenan Allen for this week’s game against the Giants, in which they currently sit as 9.5-point favorites. The formula will likely involve a lot of Austin Ekeler, who also happens to be the top projected running back in the point projections for Week 14. Ekeler is already averaging 6.5 targets over his last six games and likely can be projected for a slight bump in that department too. He should see high usage in a game that the Chargers are expected to dominate from start to finish.

Top Value RB: Saquon Barkley $19 | Grades: B, Values: A

The Giants side of the ball in their matchup with the Chargers, could also be interesting for DFS purposes. With a potential third-stringer starting at quarterback for New York, the screen game and a healthy dose of Saquon Barkley on the ground will be the plan. Barkley has also averaged just under seven targets per game since returning from injury three games ago and faces a Chargers run defense that has been beat up on the ground at times and allows 4.6 yards per carry on the season. Barkley is the second-best value at running back for play on Yahoo this week.

Top Graded WR: Tyreek Hill $30| Grades: A, Values: C

The Chiefs offense feels like it could go overlooked in Week 14, and Awesemo has strong projections for their receivers this week. Tyreek Hill tops the point projections at wide receiver and has a pretty neutral rostership projection at around 15% considering his salary is just $30, his lowest price of the year. The Chiefs threw for five touchdowns against the Raiders the last time they played and not much has changed defensively for the Raiders since then. Look for Hill to potentially go off in Week 14.

Top Value WR: D.J. Moore $20 | Grades: A, Values: B

Early-season fantasy MVP candidate D.J. Moore has cooled off a little but still makes for a very strong target in Week 14 at just $20. The elite wide receiver has started to feel the effects of having a run first quarterback but remains capable of busting big plays on just a few targets. He rates out very well against a weak Falcons pass defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points against and fourth-most touchdowns to the wide receiver position in 2021. Moore’s upside makes him one of the best value plays of Week 14 in this spot.

Top Graded TE: Travis Kelce $32 | Grades: A, Values: E

The Chiefs receivers are popping in the Awesemo projections for Week 14, and Travis Kelce is no exception. He has the highest point projection at tight end this week by nearly a full point and has owned the Raiders throughout his career, posting five touchdowns in his last seven games against them. Kelce had his best yardage game of the season in Week 11 against Las Vegas and is not even projecting for double-digit rostership at the moment. Paying up for him might be great way to punish those DFS players looking to punt tight end this week.

Top Value TE: Kyle Pitts $16 | Grades: B, Values: B

If looking for value, Kyle Pitts is finally a viable play in Week 14. Pitts has been a great fade candidate for most of the season, as he comes in with only one touchdown on the year and just nine catches in his last three games. The sentiment has finally soured on Pitts, though, to the point where he will likely be under 10% rostered in Week 14 — and Carolina has been far from an elite defense over their last two games. Pitts is still playing a lot and running plenty of routes, so a breakout game could occur at any time. At well under $20, he is a fine value at tight end this week.
