Yahoo Super Wild Card Week Grades and Values for Sunday NFL Daily Fantasy

Awesemo has a ton of great tools and NFL DFS rankings to tackle all the largest contests in DFS. This article will go through and highlight some of the week’s highest-projected Yahoo NFL picks at each position on Super Wild Card Weekend for this Sunday. It will also provide insight into rostership projections and provide some other matchup information for optimal Yahoo NFL picks for daily fantasy lineups each week.

Super Wild Card Sunday Yahoo NFL Picks, Grades & Values

Top Graded QB: Patrick Mahomes $37 | Grades: A, Values: B

The top-graded quarterback of Super Wild Card weekend is the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes, who comes in a full point higher in the Awesemo projections this week than the next-rated quarterbacks. Mahomes threw for under 300 yards in each of his last three regular season games, but still managed over 20.0 Yahoo points in each of those three contests, and now has 12 touchdowns and just one interception over his last five games. The Steelers’ pass rush is a bit of a concern but he completed 76% of his passes for 11.2 yards per completion the last time these two teams played. The best play for Sunday is likely to trust the ratings here and make Mahomes your kingpin as we have lots of value at other positions, including some great prices on Chiefs receivers.

Top Value QB:  Jimmy Garoppolo $22 | Grades: C, Values: A

The 49ers are underdogs this week but they still have a strong implied team total here of 24.0 points. Teams against Dallas have also averaged over 36.0 pass attempts per game and Jimmy Garoppolo (despite some bad turnovers) has thrown for 9.5 yards per attempt his last two games and over 300-plus yards in each of his last two starts as well. Garoppolo will be a contrarian play here but is easy to stack with Deebo Samuel who, many may forget, is still a wide receiver.

Top Graded RB: Elijah Mitchell $20 | Grades: B, Values: B

We have a questionable tag on Leonard Fournette this week, who rates out well in the model this week but may have a smaller workload than normal if he does play. A good pivot then would be going to another high volume rusher in Elijah Mitchell who now has 20 or more carries in five straight games. The fact Mitchell got 21 carries last week against the Rams, in a game where the 49ers were down most of the second-half, is a great sign for his usage here, too. Dallas has a softer rush defense and allowed 4.5 yards per carry in the regular season. Mitchell grades out with the third-best value score of the slate and is in the top-five projected point getters for his position in the Awesemo Model, making him a good pivot option if Fournette, indeed, sits.

Top Value RB: Darrel Williams $17 | Grades: B, Values: A

The Chiefs’ backfield is a bit of mess at the moment, but one note of good news they did get today is that Darrel Williams returned to action in limited fashion and is now expected to play. Williams should lead the backfield in touches (Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been ruled out) but he has proven he can be a big factor even when just acting as the passing back. Pittsburgh has been one of the worst rush defenses in the league towards the end of the year and have allowed 5.2 yards per rush over its last three games. Williams rates out with the top value score of any running back this weekend (Saturday or Sunday) in the Awesemo Model and is a great way to save cash if you’re loading up elsewhere.

Top Graded WR: Tyreek Hill $24 | Grades: A, Values: B

Tyreek Hill will likely be one of the most-rostered players this Sunday, but at this price he’s not really someone we can afford to fade. Hill’s targets did go down over the last six games of the year but the speedster still produced six games with at least 75 yards and one touchdown. Hill’s target share alone though makes him a valuable piece at this price tag and he rates out with the best points projection on this slate and one of the best values, regardless of price. It’s best to try and differentiate at another position this Sunday.

Top Value WR:  Amari Cooper $20 | Grades: B, Values: C

Amari Cooper is involved in the game with the highest-projected point total on the slate and going up against a weaker secondary in the 49ers, who have allowed touchdowns to the wide receiver position in seven straight games. Cooper has taken a backseat to the Cowboys younger receivers at times this year but he still landed eight regular season touchdowns and has great career splits (and a track record of big games) when playing in Dallas. He’s a strong value play on this slate and rates out with lower rostership projections across the industry when compared to his teammate CeeDee Lamb. Cooper’s a great way to get a big piece of the Cowboy’s offense here.

Top Graded TE: Rob Gronkowski $30 | Grades: A, Values: D

The Eagles’ defense has done wonders against opposing wide receivers this year, allowing the fourth fewest touchdowns to the position and fourth-fewest yards. However, they’ve been far worse against the tight end position, allowing the most receiving touchdowns and receptions to opposing tight ends this year. Rob Gronkowski should be a key figure again for the Buccaneers and comes in with 10 targets and over 100 yards in each of his last two games. He won’t be a sneaky play at all but with is acting as a de facto WR1 for Tampa, making him a solid player to build around here.

Top Value TE: Dallas Goedert $18 | Grades: B, Values: C

Another tight end from this game that grades out well this week is the Eagles Dallas Goedert. Goedert has averaged 15,6 yards per catch over his last four games of the year and has averaged over 6.0 targets in that same span. While he’s more hit or miss than Gronkowski, and is attached to a rushing oriented quarterback in Jalen Hurts, Goedert’s upside is exceptional and he rates out with the third highest points projection for this Sunday’s three-game slate (at tight-end). One way to play this position is to potentially use both tight ends and put Goedert in the flex spot. If we do get a higher scoring affair, it’s possible Goedert reaches a similar ceiling to Gronkowski and your lineup gets great leverage over the field.
