The NFL Divisional Round has four games spread across two days. For DFS purposes, this column will focus on the Saturday and Sunday slates.

Yahoo Daily Fantasy: Divisional Round First Look & Value Plays

QB Patrick Mahomes — $34

The Chiefs are coming off a dominant win, and Patrick Mahomes had one of his best playoff starts ever in the Wild Card round. He will get a much tougher matchup this week against Buffalo, who has not allowed has not allowed over 250 yards passing since Week 14. The Bills had a weaker schedule towards the end, though, and they will be facing a different Chiefs team than they saw in Week 5. The main factor is the price, as Mahomes comes into this game a full $9 less than Josh Allen and with a better value score. Allen’s rushing may push him to be the top quarterback on the slate, but the difference may not be enough to make up for the big price gap. Mahomes is the best value on the board for Sunday.

QB Aaron Rodgers — $32

The Saturday slate is the time to take some interesting contrarian stances with lower-volume passing offenses, but the best matchup and ceiling at quarterback belongs to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers faces a San Francisco defense that could without Nick Bosa, and their secondary has been burned repeatedly by top receivers this year. Rodgers has ridden strong running and defensive performances to a couple slow fantasy days, but he has four games with 23 or more Yahoo points in his last seven starts. For Saturday, he has the strongest floor/ceiling combo at his position.

RB Devin Singletary — $24

The Bills running game has really picked up steam as the season has gone on, and Devin Singletary enters this game having scored 22 or more Yahoo points in three straight games. Singletary is obviously riding a good wave of touchdown luck, but he is also getting all of the red-zone touches for Buffalo and has averaged 4.81 yards per carry over his last three games as well. The Chiefs can be had on the ground and ranked second-to-last in yards per carry against on the season. Singletary has the second-best projection at running back on Sunday and is still good value at just under $25.

RB Derrick Henry — $38

With two small slates this week, taking hard stances can obviously lead to big results. Derrick Henry is officially returning to the lineup this week, and his nearly four-month absence will be sure to make people tepid about rostering him — especially with such a high price tag. Henry’s usage will certainly be a point of discussion this week, but there is no player at his position left in the playoffs with better upside. The Bengals run defense has actually been a huge issue for them of late and has allowed 5.9 yards per carry over their last three games (and 7.4 yards per carry last week). Henry’s upside is massive, and his rostership may stay muted due to the layoff he endured.

WR Davante Adams — $35

The Green Bay – San Francisco matchup features a meeting between two of the most elite wide receivers in the game. While Deebo Samuel has become almost unstoppable in many ways, it is worth noting that he was limited to just five catches on 10 targets in Week 3 against the Packers. Davante Adams, meanwhile, gets a 49ers defense that could be without Bosa to help cover for a weaker secondary. Adams burned the 49ers for an incredible 12 catches, 132 yards and a touchdown in that same game and could easily come close to repeating those numbers. He and Samuel rate very closely this week in the Awesemo projections, but the matchup edge goes to Adams.

WR Tyreek Hill — $23

The Chiefs offense is in a tough spot this week, but they are also not likely to be held down all game. Despite Buffalo having a strong secondary, Tyreek Hill scorched them for 19 yards per catch last year in the playoffs — 172 yards on nine catches. Hill has been banged up with a heel issue but played a ton last week and looked good despite catching only five passes. The price is also simply too good to pass up. Hill is the third-best projected wide receiver and a near must-play at just $23.

TE Rob Gronkowski– $25

The Buccaneers barely needed Rob Gronkowski last week, but he did come through and save a slow fantasy day with a touchdown in the blowout against the Eagles. Gronkowski was quiet against the Rams back in Week 3 but has looked more and more like the prime version of himself as the season has progressed. He will likely be needed for more this week, as the Rams should put up more of a fight than the Eagles did last year. Gronkowski is the top play at tight end on either slate by over a point in the Awesemo projections and makes for the preferred pay-up option on Sunday.

TE Anthony Firkser — $13

Saturday’s tight end pool is extremely limited, so George Kittle will see huge rostership, making him a really interesting fade candidate based off rostership alone. Anthony Firsker is a potentially good GPP pivot, though, as he faces off against a Bengals team that allowed the fourth-most receptions to the tight end position this year. Firkser’s usage was going up towards the end of the year too, as he had grabbed touchdowns in two straight games and had seen three or more catches in his last two outings as well. It is unlikely he will push for more than five targets, but with a matchup this good, he could again be a pivotal red-zone target for Tennessee and makes for a good pivot at his position.
