This article will provide some first impressions of the upcoming slate, including some of the top matchups and value plays. It will discuss salaries and who sticks out at various tiers for Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks this week.

Week 17 has a massive 14-game main slate and with most teams still playing for playoff positioning, Gamers should expect little to no players to be resting this week. This article will attempt to provide a quick overview of things early on.

Yahoo Daily Fantasy: Week 17 NFL First Look & Value Plays

QB Josh Allen — $41

The Bills are fresh off their biggest win of the year and get to build some momentum against a weak pass defense in Week 17. The Falcons rank dead last in sacks per game (1.1) and allow the seventh-most yards per attempt over the last three weeks (7.3). Josh Allen had perhaps his best game of the year last week, dicing up a strong Patriots secondary for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. His dual-threat ability has kept him above or near the top in the projections most of the year, and he once again sits atop the quarterback projections for Yahoo in Week 17, making him a great pay-up option again.

QB Matthew Stafford — $33

Matthew Stafford did not have a great game last week but still looks like solid value in Week 17. He threw three interceptions against the Vikings but was bailed out by his own defense and a great running game. However, the Rams take on a Baltimore team in Week 17 whose season looks to be heading south quite fast. The Ravens have allowed seven touchdown passes the last two games and gave up 299 yards to Joe Burrow last week in the first half. Their secondary is thin and talentless at the moment, making this a prime spot for a big game from Stafford. Buy into the low sentiment.

RB Joe Mixon — $28

The Bengals offense is coming off a massive game against the Ravens but face a stiffer test this week in the Chiefs. Look for the Bengals to be more ground focused as they try to exploit a Chiefs defense that has allowed 4.7 yards per carry this year, the third-worst mark in the league. Joe Mixon has really taken over as a nearly every-down back this year too for Cincinnati, who has fed Mixon at least 20 touches in five of his last six games. This game has a 50-point total too, making Mixon look very attractive at under $30.

RB David Montgomery — $25

David Montgomery seemed to benefit last week from the move to Nick Foles at quarterback, as he was targeted nine times in the passing game. Montgomery still saw over 20 carries despite averaging just 2.1 yards per carry. He should find more room to run in Week 17, though, as he will be going up against the Giants’ weaker run defense and a team in New York that has allowed the eighth-most touchdowns per game to opposing running backs this year. Montgomery has the second-highest points projection at his position for Week 17.

WR Tyreek Hill — $29

Anytime an elite wide receiver like Tyreek Hill available at under $30 on Yahoo, ears should perk up a bit. Hill is third in the league in targets and has nine touchdowns on the year, which rank fifth at his position. With those numbers, there is not much to worry about with the matchup, but the Bengals have had issues defending the pass when they are not getting pressure. Look for Patrick Mahomes to buy his receiver enough time to get open downfield against a weaker secondary. Hill is an elite upper-tier value to target.

WR Christian Kirk — $16

The Cardinals are entering Week 17 on a two-game slide and still without the services of their top wideout in DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is not coming back anytime soon, and with the Cardinals defense not playing as well as they were at the start of the year, that has left more targets up for grabs for Christian Kirk. Kirk has seen 21 targets the last two games, and his ability to play out of the slot should keep him away from the Cowboys’ best cornerback for a lot of the game as well. He is an incredible value target at just $16.

TE Zach Ertz — $17

The Cardinals pass catchers look to be offering good value opportunities in multiple places this week. Zach Ertz. Ertz has been getting thrust into a higher-volume role since Hopkins went down, and while that strategy has not led to any wins in the Cardinals’ last two games, it has led to Ertz amassing 24 targets over those last two starts. He comes in wildly underpriced at just $17 and is third in the projections at tight end. Ertz should be seeing more targets again too with the Cardinals 5.5-point underdogs.

TE Gerald Everett — $15

Gerald Everett has come on down the stretch. He has developed a better connection with Russell Wilson over the last four weeks, especially better than the D.K. Metcalf, and it has shown on the stat sheet. Everett has at least four catches in four of his last five games and has gone for 16 yards per catch over his last two starts. The Seahawks take on a Lions team that has given up the fourth-most yards and seventh-most receptions to opposing tight ends this year as well. The spot looks great for more good returns from Everett, and he is a strong value at just $15.
