Awesemo has a ton of great daily fantasy football tools and NFL DFS strategy to tackle all the large contests for Super Wild Card Weekend in NFL DFS. This article will provide some first impressions of the upcoming slate, including some of the top matchups and value plays. It will discuss salaries and who sticks out at various tiers for Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks this week.

Super Wild Card Weekend has six games spread across three days. For DFS purposes, this column will focus on the Saturday and Sunday slates.

Yahoo Daily Fantasy: Wild Card Weekend First Look & Value Plays

QB Joe Burrow — $35

Joe Burrow is coming off a fantastic end to his season and has a shot to end the Bengals’ long-time playoff drought with a win against the Raiders. Las Vegas is coming off a game where they allowed Justin Herbert to throw for 383 yards and three touchdowns, most of which came in the second half when they were actively trying to end the game. The Raiders averaged just two sacks per game, and they are most likely going to have troubles disrupting Burrow while also covering all three of the Bengals wideouts. Burrow’s price should help keep rostership down too on the small two-game Saturday slate.

QB Jalen Hurts — $31

Jalen Hurts had a miserable day passing against the Buccaneers in Week 6, completing just 12 passes on 26 attempts, but a lot has changed since that game. Hurts had a solid end to the year, completing 67% of his passes in the last three games and throwing just one interception. His rushing upside is nearly unmatched, and the Buccaneers have a lot of banged-up bodies on both sides of the ball. Hurts’ garbage-time potential is enough to take a shot with him in GPPs, but his projections have him as the second-highest-rated quarterback for Sunday and suggest a solid day forthcoming. He is a good mid-tier value to build around.

RB Damien Harris — $22

Damien Harris was a key figure for the Patriots this year, averaging 13.5 carries per game and 4.6 yards per carry. Harris may be in a perceived tough spot this week against the Bills, who allowed just 4.2 yards per carry, but his history against the Bills suggests he should handle this matchup just fine. He has gone for over 100 yards in all three of his career games against Buffalo and averaged over 7 yards per carry against them in 2021. If the Patriots win, it will likely be a big day for Harris , and his volume should be solid regardless.

RB Elijah Mitchell — $20

Elijah Mitchell is another high-volume runner who makes for a great GPP target on these smaller slates. Mitchell could not find much room last week, but the Rams have one of the best run defenses in the league. The fact that Mitchell saw 21 carries in a game where the 49ers trailed for most of the second half is telling, and he has routinely been seeing 15-plus carries in games where he has been healthy. The Cowboys allowed 4.5 yards per carry this year, eighth worst in the league, and at the very least they are a better matchup than the Rams. Mitchell is a solid GPP pivot for Sunday.

WR Tee Higgins — $21

The Bengals have a 27.25 implied team total this week, and their starters scored 75 points in their final two games. The Raiders will almost certainly be doing their best to keep the cap on Ja’Marr Chase, who will likely be matched up against a tough corner in Casey Hayward. That should leave Tee Higgins to roam free though, and he ended the season with three games of 100-plus yards in his last five starts. Higgins’ target total has risen as the season has progressed, and the Bengals should have no issues going to him to counteract any scheme by the Raiders to shut down Chase. Higgins is a great value for Saturday.

WR CeeDee Lamb — $23

The 49ers and the Cowboys have the largest over/under of the week, and the Cowboys carry a solid 26.75 implied total into this game. Paying up for either or both of the Cowboys wideouts makes a lot of sense, as this game has plenty of shootout potential. CeeDee Lamb has the third-best projections at wide receiver for Sunday and comes at a lot cheaper price than the top two players at his position this Sunday. Lamb has been the Cowboys’ leader in usage and big plays all season and is a huge value at under $25.

TE Darren Waller — $22

The Raiders got back Darren Waller last week, but he looked like a shell of himself. He connected on just two catches despite seeing nine targets and the game going to overtime. The extra week of rest though should help, as he was recovering from both an injury and CO VID-19. The Bengals matchup is really intriguing, as they have allowed the fourth-most receptions and fifth-most yards to opposing tight ends this year. Waller is a great value and a good comeback play for Bengals stacks.

TE Rob Gronkowski — $30

The Buccaneers enter the playoff without two of their best wide receivers and face an Eagles team that allowed the fourth-fewest receptions to opposing wide receivers this year. The Buccaneers are almost certainly going to need Rob Gronkowski to perform this week, and the Eagles allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends this year. Gronkowski has the best projections at tight end this week and should be high on the list of targets for Wild Card Week.
