Yahoo Daily Fantasy Week 10: NFL DFS Rostership Picks and Pivots

Awesemo has a ton of great tools and NFL DFS strategy to help tackle all the largest contests for Week 10 NFL DFS. This Yahoo Daily Fantasy article will walk through some of the standouts in the early Awesemo rostership projections. It will look at who is projected to be highly rostered, who makes for good chalk plays, which highly rostered players may be worth fading and who the low-rostered pivots are in large-field tournaments. With that said, let us get into the Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks for Week 10.

Week 10 Yahoo Daily Fantasy NFL Picks & Rostership

Awesemo has some of the best rostership projections on the planet for NFL DFS. If playing in large-field GPPs every week, then using rostership projections can bring a massive edge by knowing where the good pivot and leverage spots will be.

Quarterback

Good Chalk: Justin Herbert (Yahoo Projected 15.2% Rostered )

The Chargers – Vikings game has all the makings of a shootout, as both defenses have given up over 23 points per game this year and both rank in the bottom five in run defense. The Chargers do not run the ball much, though, so their own defensive weaknesses should put more pressure on Justin Herbert, who is averaging a stout 40 pass attempts per game, the fourth most in the league. Minnesota could still be without Harrison Smith and rank in the bottom half of the league in yards per pass attempt. Herbert at just $31 is good value and good chalk to eat this week.

Chalk to Fade: Carson Wentz (Yahoo Projected 5.2% Rostered)

Carson Wentz comes into this game having gone for more than 23 points on Yahoo just once this season while also posting five games of under 20 Yahoo points. Granted, Wentz is coming off his best game of the season, but that should only help to make him a more popular pick from recency bias. Ultimately, opponents against the Jaguars have averaged the sixth-fewest pass attempts per game this year, and the Colts only average around 34 attempts per game themselves. As cheap options go, there are likely better targets than Wentz.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Tom Brady (Yahoo Projected 0.9% Rostered)

Tom Brady will not come in under 1% rostered this week, but clearly he is not trending with much sentiment on Yahoo. The Buccaneers are coming off a week of rest, though, and face a Washington team whose defense has been horrendous against the pass all year. Washington is sixth-to-last in yards per pass attempt on the season and has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks on the year. A Buccaneers stack is expensive this week, but it will not be chalky.

Running Back

Good Chalk: Cordarrelle Patterson (Yahoo Projected 32.2% Rostered)

It is time for people to change the way they think about Cordarrelle Patterson. He is having an outstanding fantasy campaign and comes into this game averaging 11 carries and 6.5 targets over his last four games. The production is not just volume based for Patterson either, as he leads the Falcons in red-zone touches and is also averaging 12 yards per reception, which is great for a running back. Yes, he will be chalky this week against Dallas, but at just $22 he deserves to be.

Chalk to Fade: James Conner (Yahoo Projected 34.1% Rostered)

While Patterson is going to be involved in a potentially fast-paced game and is likely to grab big chunks in the passing game, the same cannot be said for James Conner. The Panthers and Cardinals are two of the slower paced teams in the NFL, and the Panthers have been solid against running backs for most of the season. Conner is below Patterson in the Awesemo projections this week yet has an even higher rostership projection than him. Eno Benjamin also showed well last week and could steal some work in Week 10.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Aaron Jones (Yahoo Projected 3.6% Rostered)

Aaron Jones is not coming in with much fanfare this week. Despite the Seahawks allowing the seventh-most receptions to opposing running backs — and third-most fantasy points to the position — Jones is well under a 5% rostership projection in this spot. He could be a great low-sentiment play and might even push below his current projections in terms of rostership if Aaron Rodgers misses another game.

Wide Receiver

Good Chalk: Stefon Diggs (Yahoo Projected 16.7% Rostered)

The Bills take on the Jets this week, a defense that has surrendered 9 yards per pass attempt over their last three games, the worst mark in the league over that time. The Jets have allowed multiple touchdowns passing in each of their last four games, leaving Stefon Diggs in a potentially great spot to break out with a couple of big plays downfield. Diggs has the second-highest points projection on the main slate this week yet has seen his price drop on Yahoo for the third straight week. With some DFS players jumping off board the Bills offense after two straight poor outputs, taking advantage of Diggs’ low salary is a must in Week 10.

Chalk to Fade: A.J. Brown (Yahoo Projected 16.7% Rostered)

It is a little surprising to see A.J. Brown get over 16% projected rostership on a week where he is up against a top-five pass defense. On top of coming off a game where he only converted five of his 11 targets into catches, he is at less than 100% and has not practiced in full yet this week. Julio Jones soaked up four targets last week, and his role likely only grows as he gets in more work. If his sentiment stays high, Brown sets up as a potential rostership fade given his salary ($27) is not that cheap relative to other big names.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Amari Cooper (Yahoo Projected 8.2% Rostered)

The Cowboys come into this slate with a 31.50 implied team total, so all of their main offensive weapons have increased upside against the Falcons. Amari Cooper has posted good home splits since joining the Cowboys, and by all accounts his hamstring issue has not gotten worse the last couple of games. Cooper is cheaper than CeeDee Lamb on Yahoo this week, but the two have nearly a split target share this year, and Cooper is the only one between them who has posted multiple games on Yahoo with 20 fantasy points or more. He is a solid pivot move this week off both Lamb and other chalkier options in his range.

Tight End

Good Chalk: Dalton Schultz (Yahoo Projected 5.6% Rostered)

The Cowboys have a monster implied total this week and a great opponent, so they can be doubled and tripled up in lineups. Despite seeing five or more targets in each of his last six games, Dalton Schultz deniers still run rampant in the DFS streets, as he is projecting with under 6% rostership this week. Schultz is the second-highest-rated tight end on the slate, though, in the Awesemo projections, so there is no reason to pivot off him in a game where the Dallas offense looks primed to bounce back strong.

Chalk to Fade: Dallas Goedert (Yahoo Projected 23.2% Rostered)

Anytime a non-elite tight end gets above 15% rostership, they are a potential fade. Dallas Goedert has had a couple of games to prove himself without Zach Ertz in the lineup and has scored zero touchdowns and just nine catches in two games. It is OK but hardly enough to trust when he is projected for over 20% rostership.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Dan Arnold (Yahoo Projected 3.4% Rostered)

Dan Arnold has averaged 7.5 targets per game in his stint with the Jaguars and comes into this week with rostership that may be just a fifth of Goedert’s. Arnold also has a much better matchup against the Colts, who have allowed the second-most receptions to the tight end position.
