Yahoo Daily Fantasy Week 15: NFL DFS Rostership Picks and Pivots

Awesemo has a ton of great tools and NFL DFS strategy to help tackle all the largest contests for Week 15 NFL DFS. This Yahoo Daily Fantasy article will walk through some of the standouts in the early Awesemo rostership projections. It will look at who is projected to be highly rostered, who makes for good chalk plays, which highly rostered players may be worth fading and who the low-rostered pivots are in large-field tournaments. With that said, let’s get into the Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks for Week 15.

Week 15 Yahoo Daily Fantasy NFL Picks & Rostership

Awesemo has some of the best rostership projections on the planet for NFL DFS. If playing in large-field GPPs every week, then using rostership projections can bring a massive edge by knowing where the good pivot and leverage spots will be.

Quarterback

Good Chalk: Josh Allen $34 (Yahoo Projected 29% Rostered)

The Bills and Josh Allen have climbed up to 11-point favorites this week, and Allen is second on the main slate in terms of pure points projections for Week 15. With Lamar Jackson banged up, there is no safer place than Allen, who remains one of the best running/passing combos for fantasy in the league. Allen himself is questionable for Week 15 but looks like he has already shed his walking boot from after the Tampa Bay game. Eating the chalk is fine against the eroding Carolina defense.

Chalk to Fade: Dak Prescott $34 (Yahoo Projected 8.1% Rostered)

The Cowboys are also big favorites this week, but they will be taking on a Giants team that is not expected to put up much of a fight without Daniel Jones. Dallas and Dak Prescott has not looked all that great throwing the ball the last two weeks, and they will be playing in a colder environment where the wind is set to approach over 15 mph. Despite having a terrible record, the Giants have only allowed 6.5 yards per pass attempt this year, ninth best in the league. The Dallas running game is the better bet in this spot.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Jalen Hurts $38 (Yahoo Projected 6.2% Rostered)

Jalen Hurts has carried the questionable tag over into Week 15, and that has likely made some people wary about using him this week. As such, he is projecting with around 6% rostership at the moment. Hurts has been nearly unstoppable as a runner this year, though, and in a must win game there is little doubt he will be using his legs a ton this week. Hurts’ unique ability to account for all of the Eagles offense and scoring means he is always in play for fantasy, and he has the fourth-best points projection at quarterback for Week 15. He is a fine pivot play in GPPs.

Running Back

Good Chalk: Ezekiel Elliott $25 (Yahoo Projected 26.2% Rostered)

The Cowboys have a 27.75 implied team total against the Giants, and Ezekiel Elliott should get a lot of action. The Cowboys backfield is all banged up, but Elliott should be fresher after seeing just 12 carries last week. He could be in for a big workload with Tony Pollard limited and questionable to play. Elliott is mega affordable and has the third-highest points projection on the slate this week for running backs.

Chalk to Fade: Saquon Barkley $16 (Yahoo Projected 43.0% Rostered)

The running back on the other side of this game is priced down to the point where it is a foregone conclusion that Saquon Barkley will be 40%-plus rostered in Week 15. For DFS purposes, that level of rostership means he becomes an interesting fade candidate. Devontae Booker continues to get worked into the Giants offense and played on 41% of the offensive snaps last week, and Barkley has yet to exceed 20 carries in a game. Barkley is too cheap, but he is also worth avoiding in GPPs if there is similar value at other positions.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Elijah Mitchell $26 (Yahoo Projected 9.4% Rostered)

Elijah Mitchell is unlikely to get too chalk in rostership projections. Mitchell has been in and out of the lineup all season, but when he has played he has nearly always led the way in snaps, carries and fantasy production. The 49ers offense is in a great spot against Atlanta, and San Francisco has a 27.5 implied team total this week. Watch the injury news, as Mitchell is not confirmed healthy yet, but if he does suit up, he will be in a spot to post his sixth game with 15 or more Yahoo points.

Wide Receiver

Good Chalk: Cooper Kupp $38 (Yahoo Projected 20.0% Rostered)

At this point in the season there is never a bad spot to pay up for Cooper Kupp. He has produced over 20 Yahoo points in eight games this year and will be called upon to do as much as possible once again with the Rams dealing with COVID issues (Odell Beckham Jr. likely out). Kupp projects as the No. 1 wide receiver by over 2 points this week, and his 20% rostership projection seems low, even considering the spot against Seattle.

Chalk to Fade: Deebo Samuel $34 (Yahoo Projected 14.1% Rostered)

Deebo Samuel has been great all year, as he has produced some monster games and has often been underpriced on Yahoo. Those days are gone, though, as he is well above $30 and even priced above Davante Adams for Week 15. Samuel’s target share has been declining as well, as the 49ers have been relying on the surging George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk more. Samuel could bust a big play or two, but there is also the likelihood that Kittle or the 49ers running backs will steal his thunder. Projecting at well over 10% rostership, he is a potential fade.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Tyler Lockett $26 (Yahoo Projected 7.7% Rostered)

The Seahawks offense has looked a little better in each of its last two games, and Tyler Locket has been connecting well with Russell Wilson. The pair landed 142 yards on just five completions last week against the Texans and face a Rams secondary that has owed the eighth-most yards receiving to opposing wide receivers in 2021. Lockett is a cheaper receiver for this week who will likely have less than 10% rostership.

Tight End

Good Chalk: Mark Andrews $23 (Yahoo Projected 6.8% Rostered)

Mark Andrews has developed into one of the most reliable players at his position this year, and he could be needed more than usual this week against a tough Green Bay squad. Baltimore is a 5-point underdog this week and should be passing late into this game as they look to break through a tougher Green Bay defense. Andrews has averaged 10 targets in his last four games, is the second-highest-projected tight end for this Sunday’s main slate and is $10 cheaper than Kittle. He will also likely have reasonable rostership numbers.

Chalk to Fade: Dallas Goedert $19 (Yahoo Projected 29.2% Rostered)

The sentiment on Dallas Goedert is quite high in Week 15 after he finally broke through for a monster 25.5-point fantasy game. Goedert was playing the Jets in that last outing, however, and he is playing an improving defense in Washington that has allowed the 11th-fewest receptions to opposing tight ends. Goedert’s rostership levels look to be getting out of control, and with Hurts likely back and running lots in Week 15, Goedert is a fade candidate at these levels.

Low-Rostered Pivot: Mike Gesicki $19 (Yahoo Projected 3.4% Rostered)

Mike Gesicki is priced at the exact same level as Goedert but is coming in with 25% lower rostership projections. Why Gesicki is not getting attention in this spot is hard to explain, as he averaged seven targets in his last five outings and plays the Jets, the same team that just allowed Goedert to run crazy the week prior. Gesicki has the third-best points projection this week and makes for an awesome pivot play in large fields for Week 15.
