Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting the Cleveland Browns in the featured Monday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Week 17 Monday Night Football game tonight.

Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 17 Monday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Week 17 Monday Night Football game.

Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns – $33

In an interesting twist, Nick Chubb is the only player with a salary higher than $25, which also speaks to the lack of other quality fantasy options tonight. Fortunately, everyone is working from the same player pool, which means those who are reading this article will likely have a leg up on the average gamer.

This season Chubb is third in the league in yards rushing with 95.3 per game, and he has eight touchdowns. One positive development is that he is also averaging two targets per game, and he has one touchdown receiving. Pittsburgh has the second-worst run DVOA in the league, and they are missing several of their defensive players, including linebackers Devin Bush, Buddy Johnson and Joe Schobert, defensive end Chris Wormley and cornerback Arthur Maulet.

Chubb is one of the leading options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, and Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a holistic view across DraftKings and FanDuel in his Week 17 Monday Night Football Showdown Breakdown.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers – $23

Rookie Najee Harris is coming in at an extremely appealing salary considering he has over 90% of the Pittsburgh running back workload. The Browns are without linebackers Mack Wilson and Elijah Lee and defensive backs Troy Hill, John Johnson III and Ronnie Harrison Jr. The Steelers focus will be on the ground game for as long as they can maintain success moving the chains.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns – $20

This is the minimum salary for a quarterback in the Yahoo single-game format. It is also the same salary that backup Sean Mannion had for Sunday Night Football. While Baker Mayfield has been below league average, this is an insulting salary for someone who has logged at least a dozen fantasy points in nine of his 12 games. Mayfield has been dealing with a myriad of injuries, though he still has six multi-touchdown games this year. Last week was a disaster, as he had four interceptions and was sacked five times in Green Bay, yet the Browns were in the game until the end, losing 24-22. This will be a much easier matchup, even though it is on the road. The tricky part will be figuring out who will be the lucky recipient of the touchdown pass(es).

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers – $25

This will likely be the final game for Ben Roethlisberger after 18 seasons in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are still in the mix for a Wild Card berth, though they would be on the road if they make the postseason. It has been the touchdowns that are missing this year, as Roethlisberger just does not have the downfield distance or accuracy anymore. While Pittsburgh would prefer to run, run and then run the ball some more, there is a little narrative in play for the sentimental gamers where it would not be a surprise to see one last hurrah in Heinz Field with Roethlisberger flirting with 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns. That is wishful thinking perhaps, but the salary is forgiving enough that his typical 12 to 15 Yahoo points would be fine.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks

Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cleveland Browns – $11

This is a ridiculous salary for Donovan Peoples-Jones, who will likely see 6 to 8 targets and a realistic chance at double-digit fantasy points, even without a trip to the end zone. There really are not any salary constraints tonight, with only three players with tags higher than the $22 average for the five roster spots. Using Peoples-Jones allows pretty much any other combination of the top options available.
