Yahoo NFL Picks: Wild Card Monday Night Football | Cardinals vs. Rams

Tonight the Los Angeles Rams are hosting the Arizona Cardinals in the featured Monday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Wild Card Monday Night Football game tonight.

Yahoo NFL Picks: Wild Card Monday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Wild Card Monday Night Football game.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals – $35

Tonight Kyler Murray should be wildly popular as he boasts the highest median fantasy point total on Awesemo at a very reasonable salary. Though he has not rushed for a touchdown in his last five games, and he has just five touchdowns passing in this stretch, Murray is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league. Awesemo is projecting Murray for just shy of 270 yards passing and 1.7 touchdowns. He also looks good to surpass 30 rushing yards along with a 16% chance of scoring on the ground. Even without DeAndre Hopkins, Murray has plenty of dynamic pass catchers who can give the Rams fits.

Murray is one of the leading options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, and Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a holistic view across DraftKings and FanDuel in his Week Wild Card Monday Night Football Showdown Breakdown.

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams – $42

Even this lofty salary is not completely outrageous for Cooper Kupp who led the league in targets, receptions, yards, yards after the catch, touchdowns, plays of 20 or more yards and first downs. Despite getting only seven targets in each of the last two games he still averaged 6.5 catches, 106.5 yards and he tallied a touchdown in each tilt. He will need at least that level of production to even come close to justifying this salary, though considering that Kupp had the third-most touchdowns of any player this season, it is truly possible that he could surpass this lofty salary.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams – $26

This season only once has Matthew Stafford failed to produce double digit fantasy points and he has 16 or more in six of his last seven games. Even more impressive is the 13 multi-touchdown performances in 17 games. While he adds absolutely nothing on the ground, he should be in the mix for 300 yards passing and at least two touchdowns.

Sony Michel, Los Angeles Rams – $19

Last week Cam Akers ($16) debuted after injuring his knee in the preseason. Though he played 20% of the snaps, it is likely he sees more tonight. Just how much more is the important question. The best guess is that Akers will get some work on the passing downs, and Sony Michel will work on early downs if the Rams have the opportunity to salt away the game late. For Michel, this will all come down to finding the end zone. If he does that, he likely will be in the mix for 12-15 fantasy points. If he does not, they he could torpedo the hopes of his supporters with single digit fantasy production even if he logs 20 carries.

Christian Kirk, Arizona Cardinals – $16

In the past, Christian Kirk has gotten by on efficiency in the shadow of Hopkins and Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald. However, with the injury to Hopkins and the retirement of Fitzgerald, there has been an uptick in targets down the stretch for Kirk. In the last four games he had at least nine looks in three and while he only found the end zone once, that kind of opportunity is amazing for his current salary.

Antoine Wesley, Arizona Cardinals – $10

Rookie second round draft pick Rondale Moore seems to have fallen out of the mix with his recent injury and it has been undrafted rookie Antoine Wesley who has produced in his stead. Across the last four games, Wesley has had 21 targets and he managed to corral three short-yardage touchdowns. Those touchdowns easily could end up with Zach Ertz ($14) or Chase Edmond ($15). That duo clearly would be preferred options, however, a true minimum salary player affords you an otherwise perfect lineup, Wesley is your guy.
