Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Super Bowl 56 Football game.

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams – $41

After yet anothe sublime performance in the NFC Championship game, Cooper Kupp has broken through the $40 salary ceiling with a lofty $41 cap hit which is the highest of any skill-position player this season in the Yahoo single-game format. This year Kupp led the league in targets, receptions, yards, yards after the catch, first downs, plays of 20 or more yards and touchdowns. In the postseason he has scored in every game with four total touchdowns and he has a pair of 140 yard games.

Through 20 games this season, Cincinnati has allowed 17 receivers and six tight ends 70 yards or more. It extends to the running backs as well with half a dozen recording at least 49 receiving yards. The Bengals have the 17th ranked pass DVOA so none of this should be a surprise.

Kupp is one of the leading options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, and Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a holistic view across DraftKings and FanDuel in his Super Bowl Sunday Football Showdown Breakdown.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams – $30

In nine of his last ten games, Matthew Stafford has thrown for at least two touchdowns. Across the last two postseason games against the excellent defenses of Tampa Bay and San Francisco he averaged 29.5 completions on 41.5 attempts for 351.5 yards and four total touchdowns against one interception. Heck, he even has two post season rushing touchdowns what have just been icing on the cake. Stafford’s salary has dropped by a dollar from the NFC Championship Game and in the Million Dollar Baller he will likely be on close to 80% of all rosters. For perspective at $31 in the last game he was utilized by 77.9% of the field.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals – $33

It is wild that Joe Burrow has a higher salary than Stafford, though it makes for a fun decision point. Rams defensive back Jalen Ramsey has said he will be locked onto Ja’Marr Chase ($34) and if that comes to fruition, then it would seem that going with Burrow would be a better allocation of our resources. It does need to be mentioned that Ramsey has not done much “shadowing” of primary receivers this season, but that could very well be tossed out the window with the Lombardi Trophy on the line tonight.

Burrow has not been particularly efficient this season, but he has posted some eye-popping yardage totals with his hefty volume. Tonight he will be under pressure from a Rams defense that had the third most sacks in the league. In an ironic twist, the Bengals allowed the third most sacks during the regular season and we all know that Tennessee sacked Burrow nine times in the Divisonal Round.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Odell Beckham Jr., Los Angeles Rams – $24

In three postseason games, Odell Beckham Jr. has had at least 69 yards or a touchdown. Against San Francisco he saw 11 targets bringing in nine for 113 yards. Since the Week 11 bye, the well-travelled wideout has double digit fantasy points in six of ten games and in two of the games where he fell short of that arbitrary cutoff he had 9.9 and 9.8 fantasy points. Stafford threw the second most touchdowns in the league this season behind only Tom Brady and Beckham has a strong chance of finding the endzone tonight.

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals – $17

While the target volume is tough to come by with so many good receivers in Cincinnati, the salary is enticing for Tyler Boyd. The sixth-year veteran has not seen more than six targets in his last seven games, he did find the endzone four times in that stretch. The Rams defense is likely to focus on Chase, while also putting pressure on Burrow – which could lead to Boyd getting more hot route action than he has seen all season.

Los Angeles Rams DST – $17

Cincinnati has struggled all season with protecting Burrow which lead to the third most sacks allowed in the league. The Rams have playmakers at every level on their defense and the had there streak of eight consecutive games recording multiple sacks end last week against San Franciso. Time to start a new streak against the vulnerable Cincinnati pass protection. Los Angeles also has ten consecutive games with at least one takeaway with 11 interceptions and five fumble recoveries in this stretch. Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey and friends should have a chance or two for a return touchdown tonight.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks

Van Jefferson, Los Angeles Rams – $13

It seems that Van Jefferson is over his knee issue that had been limiting his practice time during the postseason. Kupp and Beckham clearly overshadow Jefferson’s opportunities, however, with tight end Tyler Higbee out with an injury, the Rams should continue to run 3-wide receiver sets. They used this formation more than any other team in the league this season and that means Jefferson should be on the field for around 80% of the snaps. He is usually good for a deep target or two and though he has not scored in the last eight games, it only takes one play to go his way.

Kendall Blanton, Los Angeles Rams – $14

Rookie Kendall Blanton popped on the radar with a short touchdown in the Divisional Round against Tampa Bay. In the NFC Championship Game he brought in all five of his targets for 57 yards. With Higbee out, it is likely that Blanton will see the majority of the tight end snaps. However, there have been whispers that Los Angeles may opt for a sixth offensive lineman instead of one of their backup tight ends to provide better blocking in both the running and passing game. Blanton is still viable and should see three or four targets making him a reasonable discount dandy alongside teammate Van Jefferson.
