Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 13 Thursday Night Football | Cowboys vs. Saints Tonight

Tonight the New Orleans Saints are hosting the Dallas Cowboys in the featured Thursday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Week 13 Thursday Night Football game tonight.

Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 13 Thursday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Week 13 Thursday Night Football game.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys – $35

Keep in mind that both of tonight’s teams played on Thanksgiving, so they will have had a full week between appearances. Dak Prescott was phenomenal, carving up the Raiders for 375 yards and two touchdowns. This season he has 19.88 or more Yahoo points in all but two games. These games were also his only ones of the season without multiple touchdowns. New Orleans is outstanding against the run, but they can be susceptible against the pass, and they have allowed 300 yards passing and multiple touchdowns in half of their games this season.

Prescott is one of the best options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, but Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a DraftKings and FanDuel standpoint in his Week 13 Thursday Night Football NFL DFS Showdown Game Breakdown.

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints – $20

This is simply a misprice, as even Trevor Siemian ($26) carries a 30% higher salary than Taysom Hill. Even though he only has four touchdowns passing on 142 career attempts, Hill can do enough with his legs alone so justify this salary. The more intriguing strategy is to leave Hill off of lineups and look to either a Saints receiver and/or running back in the hopes that Hill throws a touchdown or two instead of rushing for them.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints – $15

Clearly his best days are well behind him, but Ingram is still above replacement level both as a rusher and a receiver. This is a ridiculous salary with Alvin Kamara ($28) missing a fourth straight game. Ingram did not play last week while recovering from a knee injury, though he is not on the injury list and is expected to be a full-go on Thursday Night Football. Dallas has the 18th-ranked run DVOA, and coach Sean Payton is going to keep things on the ground or use short passes to limit the pressure and mistakes for his quarterback.

Latest NFL DFS Content

Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys – $21

There is only a $3 difference between Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott ($24) tonight, and with a relatively loose salary cap, most gamers are likely to spend up for the brand-name option. Elliott is among the top 10 rushers this season, though he has trailed off dramatically over the last month while working through various leg injuries. Fortune favors the bold, and Pollard is no slouch, having logged double-digit fantasy points in two of his last three games while backing up Elliott. All it takes is one big play with his fresh legs or potential mop-up duty in the fourth quarter, and there is a realistic path for him to garner more fantasy points than his backfield mate.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks

Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys – $15

Dalton Schultz is not exactly a bargain option, but with Hill and Ingram starting while carrying salaries appropriate for second-stringers, Schultz is likely to be overlooked by most gamers. That is valuable, as is his workload, with at least six targets in seven of his last nine games. While the touchdowns have been limited, that could change at any time, and it is not hard to envision him running a wheel route up the sideline and Prescott hitting him in stride for a 30-yard strike.

Final Thoughts

Salary is not going to be an issue tonight, but that is likely to drive some outlandish levels of popularity towards the top two or three skill position players from each team. That means that finding some areas of differentiation will be key to separate from the rest of the field in the largest tournaments. This can be accomplished by changing up the SUPERSTAR designation or looking to veer away from one or two of the most popular options.
