NHL DFS Top Stacks for DraftKings + FanDuel | 1/30

The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

Top Stacks: DraftKings + FanDuel NHL DFS Picks | Jan. 28

Top Stack: WPG1

Big slates mean lots of good NHL DFS plays but topping the list for today’s slate is the top line for Winnipeg. They have plenty of competition at the top with COL1 and TB1 but factoring in their matchup gives them an edge here.

There may not be a worse defensive team in the NHL than the Vancouver Canucks based off all stats and metrics. Inversely, the Jets top line of Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor, and Blake Wheeler have a very long track record of being phenomenal together, especially on the powerplay. That coincides well with the Canucks love for taking penalties -dead last in PIM per game.

As a top 3 stack on each site, and outside the top 10 in ownership on DraftKings, this spot sets up very well for this trio. Vancouver’s lack of discipline increases their ceiling to amounts that surpass the others around them in the top stacks tool.

Awesemo’s Top 2 Stack Percentage: 17.55%

Awesemo’s Ownership Projection: 10.3%

Leverage: 7.25%

Over-Owned Stack:EDM2

Coming in with negative leverage on both sites this second line for Edmonton looks to be far too owned. On a smaller slate I could get behind running a lot of depth lines but on an 11-game slate it just isn’t necessary.

Leon Draisaitl is driving much of the ownership on this line because of his exposure to their top PowerPlay with Connor McDavid and I understand wholly. But sinking 10% of my investing teeth into Kailer Yamamoto and Dominik Kahun does not taste good. Yamamoto and Kahun are meddling fantasy producers to this point. With just 7 points and 32 shots between them thus far the floor just isn’t there. Along with that, Toronto is also a talented offensive team that will force this line to play in their own end also limiting upside.

There are much better spots to get over on near the top and other value stacks that will come at a fraction the ownership.

Awesemo’s Top 2 Stack Percentage: 5.4%

Awesemo’s Ownership Projection: 10.35%

Leverage: -4.95%

Value Stacks: PIT2, DAL2
