The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

A typical favorite for many in NHL DFS because of a one Connor McDavid, the Oilers top line looks primed to break a slate once again. Coming off a letdown performance in the first matchup with the Canadiens, they should benefit from some recency bias.
We all know that McDavid is the best player in hockey and is a 50-point night waiting to happen, so I won’t sell him too hard. His line mates may be a bit harder of a sell, but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is a very skilled offensive player averaging a point per game through three games. Along with that, Nugent-Hopkins will literally never see the ice without McDavid, so the correlation is extremely strong. Bringing up the rear end of this line is the not-s0-exciting Zack Kassian. As usual, the Oilers have decided to put a physical presence on the top line to round it out. Kassian definitely doesn’t possess any superior offensive skills, but he does bring the overall price down, especially on DraftKings at only $2,900.
The ownership discount we’re getting with this line from TOR1 is the biggest factor for me. On a slate this size, that is a big edge on the field and needs to be exploited.

With the highest leverage score on DraftKings, this pick was a slam dunk for NHL DFS. The Golden Knights top line gets a nice matchup with the defensively challenged Coyotes at home.
Captain Mark Stone sets the tone for this whole team, maybe even more so than his line. Racking up four points thus far in two games, he’s a near point-per-game player since arriving in Vegas in 2019. He’s not alone in scoring, though, as American sniper Max Pacioretty will provide his own share of offense: Two goals in two games thus far. Chandler Stephenson is the wild card of this line, and his cheap price tag makes him worth the risk. Stephenson is a straight-line player who is the benefactor of great wingers mostly, but his speed does help create opportunities.
Vegas came in lower owned last slate than expected, and if that trend continues, I will continue to intentionally get over the field.
