The 2021 NHL season is nearly a month old, and it’s been unpredictable and entertaining. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in NHL DFS. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.
Top Stacks: DraftKings + FanDuel NHL DFS Picks | Feb. 19
Top Stack: EDM1
With heavy ownership going to the opposing Flames, the Oilers top line makes for an easy leverage play. With a top-five leverage score on both sites, this is an ideal spot to get over the field.
Four-game slates for NHL DFS often come down to ownership and hitting the right depth line or standout performance. With Connor McDavid‘s hefty tag on both sites and the line’s overall price being at least $20,000 on both sites, we’re naturally going to get depth. Often times that depth is over-owned on smaller slates because people jam in the top lines. So to combat that overall ownership, running out this trio can leverage the field and help make your line unique.
If Jesse Puljujarvi continues to get top-power-play time, then this line’s ceiling goes through the roof. Rarely do we get full correlation with a McDavid line, and when we do, the opportunity has to be seized.

Full-fading any line in NHL DFS is never advised and can be very costly if they go nuclear. But making sure you are watching your exposures is strongly advised to ensure you aren’t over-leveraging or inheriting too much risk. For today’s slate, monitoring your exposure to either of Calgary’s top two lines needs to be priority one.
In a nice spot and extremely affordable prices it makes all the sense. The Oilers are in the bottom third for goals allowed, and both lines are under $18,000 industrywide. We are currently projecting that both of these lines will be the top-two-owned on DraftKings, which is a bit alarming, and CGY1 (Elias Lindholm line) is the highest owned on FanDuel.
Like I said, the spot is very good against the porous and fast-paced Oilers, but with such high ownership and the ability of EDM1 to often dictate possession, I’d use their top-two stack percentage as an ownership guideline.
CGY1 Top 2 Stack Percentage: 19.85%
CGY2 Top 2 Stack Percentage: 10.6%
*Editor’s Note: Keep any eye out as Calgary lines may change.
