The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

Coming off what we can call a letdown, this spot sets up nicely for the Oilers top line. Connor McDavid was over 50% owned on our last slate involving him but today is a different story facing Calgary.
Little needs to be said about this line from a NHL DFS production standpoint with the most polarizing player in the sport running the show. Occasionally, he does need some help from his wingers such as we saw last game. As a line, the trio of McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jesse Puljujarvi have dominated the ice in their 71 minutes together thus far. They are nearly doubling up their opponents in high-danger chances and carry a Corsi-For and xGF over 60%.
On a slate of this size ownership will be key to watch. As of now we have them as the third highest owned on FanDuel and fifth on DraftKings. Running out the full line not only leverages the field but it also helps leverage the McDavid ownership.

As we saw last night, full stacks of popular value lines can be costly, so we need to be cognizant of how much we’re using them and with who. As a dirt-cheap line in a decent spot, this San Jose second line is going to be overly used in NHL DFS.
One of the main concerns of this line would be its lack of correlation and continuity. Playing together for the first time all year last game, Tomas Hertl, Ryan Donato and Patrick Marleau got absolutely ran over on the ice. In just 6:55 of ice time they gave up six overall scoring chances with two high-danger chances.
There is uncertainty around this line even being together for tonight’s game so I’d tread with caution and be ready to swap. If they are together I would still ensure to limit exposure due to lack of ice time and puck possession.
