The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

Top Stacks: DraftKings + FanDuel NHL DFS Picks | Jan. 28
Top Stack: BUF1
On a slate with so many teams, there are plenty of great options. Taking all things into consideration, I think Buffalo’s first line makes for the best overall play here. Colorado’s top line obviously makes up a large bit of the top stacks percentage, but they are also the most expensive stack by $2,900 on DraftKings.
Coming in as the third-most expensive stack, you’re still paying a good bit for the likes of Jack Eichel, Taylor Hall, and Sam Reinhart. Eichel was finally able to notch his first goal of the year last game against these Rangers. With a goal every three games for his career, this could be the start of a hot streak for the gifted center. Hall and Reinhart were both held off the score sheet last game, which is likely a lead contributor to their low ownership.
The Rangers are a defensively challenged team, ranking in the bottom half of the league in nearly every category we use in NHL DFS. With full correlation and large leverage on DraftKings, getting to lots of Sabres is theoretically wise.

Value Stack: SJ1
With so many teams and expensive players on the slate, we’re going to need to find value lines as fillers. San Jose’s top line has an insanely low price of $11,600 on DraftKings ($15,300 FanDuel) and fits the bill nicely.
This line proved last game they can continually produce even in a complete beatdown, with 6 points last game. Logan Couture has always been a solid option for NHL DFS, averaging nearly 3 shots on goal for his career. Through seven games this season, the veteran center has accrued 6 points and 22 shots on net. Three games ago coach Bob Boughner decided to change up his top line to include two offensive wingers in Ryan Donato and Kevin Labanc, who each have 5 points this season. In their three games together, this line has positive scoring metrics across the board, including a 58.14% Corsi-for.
At this price, you open up the entire player pool. On a slate with so many options, that can complicate your thought process, but it also makes differentiating easier.
