The 2021 NHL season is officially underway. Like many sports, the easiest way to maximize your ceiling is through stacking, and that couldn’t be any truer in hockey. For reference, each goal averages 1.7 assists. In this article I’ll help you find the best stacks and NHL DFS picks to make for DraftKings and FanDuel fantasy hockey lineups using Awesemo’s Top Stack Tool.

Another matchup with the Coyotes provides another great spot for the Golden Knights top line in NHL DFS. Last game they showed how quickly they can crank it up, scoring two goals and racking up two assists in the last 30.
Mark Stone did the least of the three, only contributing one assist, but he’s still the focal point of this offense in all situations. There is no question that Max Pacioretty is the most gifted scorer of the bunch after schooling Darcy Kuemper in rebound control. Those two combined are a large chunk of salary on both sites, but thankfully Chandler Stephenson is still being priced as a third-line center. The speedster Stephenson will run into points on most nights just because of his line mates (watch goal from Monday night).
I know it’s probably shocking not to see EDM1 or TOR1 in this spot, but when you factor in their ownership, you can eliminate at least 40% of the field. That is tremendous leverage on a five-game slate.

If you’re a member in our premium Slack, I made it clear how much I like this spot for the Canucks top line. Coming off a string of underwhelming performances may not look great, but the upside is there.
J.T. Miller is back, and that is crucial for this line and this team. Miller is a two-way forward, but more importantly, he is a willing passer. Having two shooters at his disposal makes this trio a formidable matchup for anyone. Winger Brock Boeser is always a cash game favorite in NHL DFS because he shoots at will. Now, he’s not Alex Ovechkin, but at nearly three per game, he creates opportunities for himself and others. The real difference maker, though, is center Elias Pettersson. The young Swede possesses a ton of talent in his stick but can be physically controlled by a team with bigger lines.
Montreal is a small team overall with no dominant centermen to keep Pettersson pinned to the boards, which is very important. And as the highest top stack percentage under 10% owned (under 5% on FanDuel), they make for a great pair to the popular stacks.
Awesemo’s Top 2 Stack Percentage: 11.8%
Awesemo’s Ownership Projection: 5.55%
Leverage: 6.25%
