EARLY

ANA1 (Rakell-Getzlaf-Kase)

The Getzlaf line had another high-event game against the Canucks last time out, and we should see more of the same against the Oilers, especially because they can avoid the McDavid line at even-strength. Ondrej Kase has been a madman in terms of creating chances since returning from injury and this line had 10 Scoring Chances in total vs. Vancouver, and they should have big advantages against the Nugent-Hopkins and Marody lines at even-strength. Throw in the 24th-ranked penalty kill for the Oilers and top power-play time for Rakell and Getzlaf, and you’ve got a great value at $17K for this early slate stack.

MIN1 (Zucker-Staal-Granlund)

The Wild top line continues to get great matchups at even-strength, so I’m going to keep riding them until they stop producing. Today they’ll have the pleasure of going up against the Connor-Little-Laine line at even-strength, which allows over 33 Scoring Chances Against per 60 and 13.4 High-Danger Chances Against per 60. We have max correlation here as these guys stick together on the power-play, and they’ll likely be lower-owned than NJ1, WSH1, and VGK1, making them an excellent pivot if you’re not with the chalkier options this afternoon.

MAIN

CAR1 (Teravainen-Ferland-Aho)

The Hurricanes are usually a pretty easy team to read when they’re at home, as the Staal line will take the opposing top line (Dadonov-Bark0v-Hoffman) while the Aho line will get primarily the 2nd and 3rd lines. The 2nd line for the Panthers gave up 8 Scoring Chances and 6 High-Danger Chances in their first game without Vincent Trocheck, and Florida also has a bottom-5 penalty-kill on the season. This is one of the highest-event lines in the entire league in a great matchup at all strengths, and they are oddly priced down on DK as they can be had for just $16,500.

SJ1 (Kane-Pavelski-Donskoi)

Speaking of high-event lines that are underpriced, the San Jose Sharks’ top line is only $17,300 on DK despite their team having the highest implied total of the entire day. They are attempting 62 shot attempts per 60 minutes at even-strength to go along with 33 Scoring Chances and 17 High-Danger Chances per 60. They don’t have great correlation on the man-advantage, but the even-strength matchups against the Canucks are good enough to warrant a full-stack even on an 8-game slate, especially because you can afford a 4-man with Brent Burns or Erik Karlsson.
